Butterfly has discontinued all variations of the Tenergy 25. Many other products will also be discontinued.

The Tenergy 25 was released on November 21, 2008, alongside the Tenergy 05, as the first models in the Tenergy series.
This means it remained on the market for approximately 18 years.

I think the T25 has been essentially been replaced by the Dignics 05 and Zyre 03. But I still think there are players who would prefer softer more forgiving versions of those.
It's actually quite hard to get high tension soft sponge rubbers these days. 05FX is one of the last in its class. Still effective at amateur level.

This weird. This rubbers released not long time ago
Think Butterfly did a excellent job with the sponges, but the topsheet behaves like MP. Not easy to master and away from the main LP users - soft pips chopers and reverse spin blockers. There is no profi player to use them and no big money to chase in this direction. I really like Ilius line, but life happens... Now I am hoping for the new Victas P6, 7 and 8 to cover some of Ilius characteristics, but let see.

Broke the news to a friend who plays with Tenergy 80 on both sides. He's a blocker/counter-hitter. Any suggestions for a recommended alternative?
They're keeping some thicknesses / hardnesses. T80-FX is totally gone, but T80 is only gone in 1.7mm.
