Hi

I have done this a few times in the past.

I think it is a very good idea.

My level drops very badly in cold and even more so in humid conditions!

Looking back over 30 years most of my unexpected wins come in first or second match of local league or in the morning at tournaments, most of my unexpected losses can come on the same night but in the last match or in the afternoon when the humidity has risen and the grip has lessened, probably the ball is more worn.

It does not seem to matter if I clean my bat between games. The grip is never the same.

Does anyone, do pros have more than one blade which they can use in the same day or evening at an event?

no the blade and rubbers are fine, but they don't play the same at end of night as start even with cleaning!
There's a racket heater from Donic I believe, a battery powered case.
If you think it's the rubbers getting cold then maybe this helps?
I honestly blame all my declining performance on fatigue and improving standard of opposition as the evening progresses.
I never noticed a decline in rubber performance.
This doesn't mean it's not there, just that if it is there I don't notice it.
Are you sure it's just not your intensity and mindset fading as the day gets longer?

Absolutely sure, others adapt better as it gets humid. My spin becomes less effective, my short pips are harder to use and everyone else seems better at hitting though the ball without spin than me. It feels like lesser players get better, which is really stupid, it is a problem that has been magnified by the ABS ball!

Just a theory but I think cold, heat (humidity) affects the sponges, I experience this when I'm playing in an air conditioned area and is set on the lowest temp I feel the sponge becomes slightly hard (using rozena 2.1mm on both sides) dwell time becomes shorter that makes looping more harder and feeling more bouncier, the top sheet becomes less tacky too. But when playing on a humid area every loop, spin and block you will feel the ball biting on the top sheet and even penetrating on the sponge and on the blade. Or maybe it's just me.
