2024 Sanwei Target 3 National

IMG_4823.png

There's a red one now, I will receive it soon.
Correction: it’s a different kind of sponge. A pale white Japanese style sponge like Rakza 7

I bought a STN3 from taobao for 80RMB maybe, so dirt cheap, maybe like 10USD shipped. Hard version and I have to say on Mizutani ZLC it is great. I remembered it had low arc, but on this blade it's great. I can't really even say that Mizutani ZLC is a blade that makes amazing arcs to begin with it's stiff as a brick, maybe not hard as koto outer ALC but very stiff. For sure stiffer than Mizutani SZLC and ALC blades are not even same ballpark.
So very puzzling to be honest why it works so well with Mizutani ZLC. I clearly remember it was a bit different with Cybershape carbon and with Viscaria like blades(and I felt it performed similarly on those blades and they are quite a bit different blades but performance on them was similar and that performance is very different to Mizutani ZLC). Oh well I'm not complaining just strange.

I didn't boost it, my rubber has a pretty serious reverse dome too, it was quite a pain to brush the glue on, I was cursing for not being able to do it so nicely as I normally do. Placebo is a biatch.

Cut weight about 47g to BTY head, so that's great. I'm not sure if Sanwei has changed anything, it feels more bouncy now than before and the arc is just right, but I can't really say there's any quality difference, looks just the same as before.

Could be I'm now very accustomed to non boosted Chinese rubbers and this feels just as good or better.
Also Mizutani ZLC feels great with Glayzer too, maybe the Mizutani ZLC is special...
Total weight is 189g with about 6g glue so very reasonable.

I don't know guys maybe this is just one of those days when the stars align and it cannot be explained well.

Def a keeper setup and I wonder when I reorder if it will be the same or the old low(er) arc rubber will come back.

I know I say this often but this setup feels similar to a well boosted Hurricane blue but it is more bouncy and less Hurricane-ish. Spin very comparable, very transparent play, very fast and heavy balls with great quality.

Best 80RMB I spent.

Actually this time I had no EJ urges, lately I don't have much. But my middle finger started to feel weird, hurt and I really couldn't explain it other way than my Xiom Ice Cream blade handle causing it. Seems to be the case since now this problem is gone with other FL handle. Tried a few rubber on Mizutani ZLC, Pinyi, Battle3, didn't like them very much on it so I got the STN and it feels so good. It's more of a surprise than anything. The Glayzer being so good is also a nice bonus.

Ha ha. I was talking about me. I've had no urges for a while. But with the thread about tt-japan, and now this, about how STN feels so good...

Hey guys, I never bought Sanwei Target National, what's the best package and model to buy because I see very different packages & rubbers?

I have also several questions:
-How about the speed unboosted or boosted, similar or more or less than DHS H3 or others like D09C or D05 or the new Zyre-3?
-I guess the same or more spin than H3, it's right?

TIA
Felipe

Get the purple package, I recommend thd medium hard. It's cheap on aliexpress about 15-20USD.

It is similar to boosted H3 BS, the Sanwei rubber doesn't need boosting. It's already similar to boosted H3 BS out of the pack.

Thanks.

Could be more similar to Battle II Provincial boosted?
I think Battle 2 has weaker topsheet and oxidizes faster. The oxidazation of the Sanwei is also quite good. I don't remember it oxidazing much.

I had Battle 2 that oxidized badly, but the main issue for me was the weaker topsheet. It drags the ball a lot but doesn't snap much back into original state so not that elastic.
