I bought a STN3 from taobao for 80RMB maybe, so dirt cheap, maybe like 10USD shipped. Hard version and I have to say on Mizutani ZLC it is great. I remembered it had low arc, but on this blade it's great. I can't really even say that Mizutani ZLC is a blade that makes amazing arcs to begin with it's stiff as a brick, maybe not hard as koto outer ALC but very stiff. For sure stiffer than Mizutani SZLC and ALC blades are not even same ballpark.
So very puzzling to be honest why it works so well with Mizutani ZLC. I clearly remember it was a bit different with Cybershape carbon and with Viscaria like blades(and I felt it performed similarly on those blades and they are quite a bit different blades but performance on them was similar and that performance is very different to Mizutani ZLC). Oh well I'm not complaining just strange.
I didn't boost it, my rubber has a pretty serious reverse dome too, it was quite a pain to brush the glue on, I was cursing for not being able to do it so nicely as I normally do. Placebo is a biatch.
Cut weight about 47g to BTY head, so that's great. I'm not sure if Sanwei has changed anything, it feels more bouncy now than before and the arc is just right, but I can't really say there's any quality difference, looks just the same as before.
Could be I'm now very accustomed to non boosted Chinese rubbers and this feels just as good or better.
Also Mizutani ZLC feels great with Glayzer too, maybe the Mizutani ZLC is special...
Total weight is 189g with about 6g glue so very reasonable.
I don't know guys maybe this is just one of those days when the stars align and it cannot be explained well.
Def a keeper setup and I wonder when I reorder if it will be the same or the old low(er) arc rubber will come back.
I know I say this often but this setup feels similar to a well boosted Hurricane blue but it is more bouncy and less Hurricane-ish. Spin very comparable, very transparent play, very fast and heavy balls with great quality.
Best 80RMB I spent.
