Jet lag is slowly but surely emerging among the JNT and KOR players. By the time they adjust they will be back to the other side of the world. Will see how they deal with it at WTT CS Chongqing 2024.

WS QF
SXN 3-1 SYB (8, 9, -7, 8)
G4 40, 43, TO for SXN, 53, 65, 85, 86, 96, 97, 107, 118

How many times has SYB reached the round equivalent to her seeding? She has been playing like crap since WTTC 2024. 99% certain now her body can't take it. Very likely a train wreck taking on 3 events at Paris 2024.

And as noted, she is clearly stuck in WR points, 1820 will likely be the best she can achieve before 7/16.

As expected, Hayata advances to the finals in 3 straight games over Bruna. Hayata is the heavy favorite as I don't think Miyu has ever beaten Hayata. If Miyu doesn't beat Hayata tomorrow, I am really, really hoping she takes the title at WTT Contender Mendoza which starts next week. Best of luck to both.

once again JPN men let me down, Shinozuka & Harimoto one round trip, Togami lost against An whom he has beaten 3-0 back in Taiyuan (after losing the deuce in the 2nd set he lost composure and messed up). At least Tanaka was doing well. But how will you perform at the Olympics playing like this

This shutout is more than than meets the eye. The consensus is that both Harimoto and Hayata played like crap. One Tieba user thinks the pair of righty male/lefty female doesn't work as well as the other way around.

True to what WCT/DHK said, the level of competition is higher than that of the last edition. Mizutani/Ito is lucky to have won last time, once in a lifetime.

Korea has been #2 on the Olympic list for a while now. This might have narrowed the gap had Team Japan won but it was already an uphill battle. And I agree that having thr male as the lefty likely is more potent but we will see whether Lim Shidong and Kuai Man can enter that debate with some data over the next 4 years. Harimoto has shown neither the footwork nor forehand to be a truly dominant Male in such a team though he does try to make up with his serve and receive.
