Ito choked against Pavade, was 2-0 up and lost in the decider. Harimoto/Matsushima also lost in five against the Polish pair even though they had match points in the fourth game. Lots of great rallies in that doubles match.

Szocs isn't the problem. Like SYB (stuck at 1820 pts as projected), Diaz and Mittelham, Szocs has been playing like crap. So it depends on Lily, who managed to cause a fatigued Hayata some serious headache at WTT CS Chongqing 2024.

H2H 3-1 in favor of Bernie. Bernie is the stronger player and not just in H2H. So it depends on whether Bernie can play to her true form which she displayed in her match with Lily. I actually don't think Lily played poorly. She just had a ton of trouble with Bernie's serve. Bernie knew what type of receive to expect and capitalized on it.

The match was on espn3.com as well, just not showing on youtube for a while. Now fixed, but wish WTT could communicate their fubars with transparency somehow...

I always find it fun following Tomokazu's matches from the streams focusing on other tables, like with Miwa's match just now; you could easily tell how it's going even without tuning into it.

Hayata vs. Odo now playing on T1 if you happen to see this post now. Satsuki's been playing really well so Hayata better bring her 'A' game.

Hayata, usually a slow starter, got into the match much quicker than expected, that Odo didn't adjust until G3.

Odo got in the groove and put up a much stronger resistance. OTOH, Hayata pushed much harder than normal and needed to catch a breath. The way of playing needs to be reviewed afterward, in preparation for the bo7 match format at Paris 2024 in which anything could happen.

Odo is quite the speedster. Nothing wrong with Hayata catching a breath. It looked like it was over after the 2nd game, but Odo showed that she's a fighter. Just a well played match from both.

Hirano met resistance only in G2, after a 4:1 lead and then somehow eased but regrouped in time. The level displayed in G3 could overwhelm Szocs tomorrow. Will see how Szocs deals with that.
