F**K ETTU for now showing Russia flag... Soon they will be in prison!

The decision on whether to host events and sports competitions in Russia, to invite Russian government or state officials to competitions, or to allow the display of the Russian flag, anthem, colours or any other identifications, is at the discretion of each IF and international sports event organiser, and should reflect whether their national federations are in good standing. In this respect, the IOC will not organise IOC events in Russia or invite Russian government or state officials to its events. The IOC will take a decision in relation to the display of the Russian flag, anthem, colours or any identifications for the Olympic Games at the appropriate time.

If you thought WTT was a mess, ETTU is even worse. The sad reality of European table tennis governing

It has given a clear impression that ETTU doesn’t have any backbone or respect towards the tradition of the tournaments it organizes. As soon as financial benefits are on the horizon, there are no issues to change the rules of the game and let the money talk. If we look before Moura’s presidency, ETTU had the potential to be in a very good place financially.

A few years before the events in Ukraine started was a very lucrative and promising time for ETTU, since the aide to the president of Russian President Vladimir Putin – Igor Levitin was elected as an ETTU President in September 2020. Soon after, ETTU got a sponsorship from the largest Russian company – Gazprom. After the conflict in Ukraine began, Levitin resigned from his position, but the ETTU board remained pretty much the same.

Since getting sponsorship from Gazprom or any other major Russian companies was no longer a possibility, ETTU had to find ways, how to make some extra money. And why look too far, if you can simply copy-cat the WTT Youth Contenders and present the Europe Youth Series? However, this Euro-centric tournament looks simply like another cash-grab scheme in table tennis, similar to WTT Feeder tournaments.

Anton is too old for game 7
Anton needs to learn to slow down Felix’s serve. Felix needs to learn that Anton isn’t ready for his serve quite as quickly as he used to be.

Felix never lost to Anton, I don't think there's anything left for him to learn about him. Especially not after that game seven, holy crap.
Probably the best match in general that Anton has every played against Felix, it all fell apart in game 7.

You mean, he wasn't prepared to receive?

He would have raised his hand if that were the case. He's an experienced professional, not a kid playing his first tournament.
He did a good job for the first 5-6 games, but something about the pace of the 7th unnerved him a little, maybe Felix's screaming unsettled him. Ultimately, I suspect he was surprised at how well he had done and that everything at that point was just gravy, unlike someone like Felix who probably felt from day 1 that the title belonged in his house and that there was no way he was going to be denied and so fully expected to be in the final, while Anton was probably imagining losing to Truls and Dang before the draws filled out lol. But clearly, he didn't slow the game down as deliberately in game 7 as he had at many other points in the match.

Yeah, I got that impression too. Anton was already satisfied by reaching the final as it was, whereas for Felix, losing the final would have been perceived as failure. So when Felix upped the ante, Anton just didn't have the necessary spark to respond.

It’s true, he wasn’t always ready. On one occasion, the umpire intervened because he raised his hand. On several other occasions, he was too slow to get into position and Felix had already started his serve. That’s how he missed several serves.
Incidentally, Felix and his brother Alexis always serve very quickly. You really have to be ready as their opponent. They count on you not being ‘ready’ yet.
