500 crowd at comprehensive school in Washington

I have been working with some year 11 students((15 years) at Washington comprehensive and I was asked to attend a schools finals on Friday to present the trophy to the winners of the schools tournament, organised by a Mentoring teacher there.
The tournament had over 300 entries including teachers.
The final was played in the new theatre like main hall with 500 pupils teachers staff watching.Posters, banners , cue cards etc were in the crowd with cheering for each player from their mates etc .
Semi s and finals were both really tight with some excellent play.The crowd even shouting out tactics to their friends on the table, "play to his Backhand" .Cheering and stamping was the order of the day.
A fantastic event. Before the presentation myself and Jesse and top chinese lady player who was assisting me gave a little demo, then to the shouts from the crowd of ping pong pete, ping pong pete the organiser and best player in the school mr whiscomb eventually got up to challenge me, after some lobbing from in the crowd he won 5-4 to tremendous cheers and chanting.

My point is ....500 crowd,,, brilliant atmosphere... 1 school

That's something to be proud of. It's needed more so everywhere else in the world save China or the more popular Asian countries. We would need that type of growth over here in the U.S.
