I will be honest. I do not like my Stuor Harimoto ZLC. It is too slow which I am a bit shocked. I like slower carbon blade but it is too slow for me. However you might like it if you are coming from all-wood.

I really like Stuor's quality more than XVT and Lemuria.

I have three Stuor Viscaria clones. They are fast. I like both Stuor ZJK clone and Lemuria ZJK clone. Both are fast.

I also do not like the Yinhe and Sanwei blades I have. Two Yinhe blades, the handle and the weight are weird to me. It needs to be sanded down but, oddly enough, I have time to boost my rubbers but I don't have time to sand down the blade. lol :)

Sanwei blades, the ones I tried, vibrate too much. I like my blades with zero vibration.

Everyone like different things. It is important to try it and see what you get.

So oddly enough, whenever someone say Yinhe got this new blade or Sanwei got this other blade, I have zero interest. But Stuor having a new blade? I might really want to get my hands on it.

Or maybe I am just weird. lol :)

So my suggestions are:

1) If you find Stuor Harimoto ZLC clone too slow, Stuor has faster blades so don't give up. I just ordered Stuor CNF and Lin Yun-Ju clone so they better not disappoint me.

2) Do not buy multiple Yinhe or Sanwei blades until you try it and you find that you like those brands in general.

3) I would avoid XVT. I have a XVT ZLC and it felt slow and muted. My one-ply XVT hinoki, I just sold it without trying any rubber on it.

4) Lemuria seems to be fine. I have no complaints. I just like Stuor better.
I was playing BTY Revoldia CNF + 2x old D09C and I was really positive surprised. D09C knows as I have it on other blade but Revoldia was mystery for me. Due to very positive impression I ordered Stuor CNF too 🤣

Great. We agree! So it is not all in my head.

I feel bad because all these blades are cheap so it is like we are arguing over $40-$50 blades (compared to $160-$350 for Butterfly blades). However, if you are going to buy something you better enjoy it. Yinhe blades are also more expensive, with some in the $75-$85 range if you factor in import tax and shipping cost on Aliexpress.

On the other than Stuor blades are literally $45-$50 including import tax and shipping cost on Aliexpress. And for the cost, the blades are really made well!
Now that my father and I have made 15 blades, I am beginning to understand why this happens. Apparently, my Yinhe blades had a core made of ayus. And the Stuor blades I tried have a kiri core. Ayus is hard and heavy. It works well in wood blades. Kiri is softer, lighter and most importantly much more flexible. This is better for carbon reinforced blades.

Ah that makes sense now. Yinhe blade has weird weight or weight distribution that I just cannot put my fingers on. Now that you said it, it makes sense!

Well, Stuor better keeps its Kiri core.

I will be honest. I am surprised that people memorize the composition of a particular blade and can recite it.

Me, I just play with a blade. And my hand either likes the blade or it does not. Simple as that.

Also what I heard is that, even within the same model (such as Viscaria which is massively produced or hand crafted by SDC for example), each tree that is used to build a blade is different. Even SDC cannot guarantee the same blade unless you order multiples at once so he can use the same piece of wood literally. SDC will keep track of the composition of blades that you ordered and can replicate it later. But no guarantee on how it will play exactly the same.

So I keep that attitude in testing out different blades. I make my decisions as to if I like a blade or not pretty quickly.

I understand you. Previously, I also chose blades mainly based on reviews, or simply bought clones of well-known and popular blades without particularly delving into their main technical characteristics. This is probably normal for most people. You are also right that it is difficult to make absolutely identical blades, this is also true.

Bought a second Yinhe pro-01 . I like the first one I got so will be good to have a blade for experiments that’s very similar to the blade I’m actually playing with.
I also got a sheet of Arthur China and a sheet of Rxton9. Both in black.

It’s strange 11.11 sale is more expensive than other websites. For example:
Aliexpress TG2 $19 on special + tax. On TTnpo $17 no tax.
Aliexpress Prov H3 OS $34 after 15% off + tax. On Prott $33 no tax.

The list can go on. Am I missing something?
Aliexpress has free shipping, and also 11.11 gives a number of coupons and discounts that I think you haven't factored in. For example, you get $4 off for $20 spent. So the TG2 would be more like $16

No free shipping on my app. Maybe not for my country? Each rubber costs like $5 shipping fee and 15% tax.

To the US/Canada, free shipping unless noted. 10% import tax.

So it is common to see Hurricane 3 neo advertised for, say, $21.50. Then once in a while, I see Hurricane 3 advertised for $17.80 and every single time when I click on it, it will tag on $3-4 per sheet of shipping so I have to look at it carefully. Not all items are shipped "free."

That's why unless I really need something unique, like Hurricane 3, 40 degree v.s. 41 degree v.s. 38 degree, then I always go with TT11. TT11's 30% off pricing is actually cheaper than anything I can find on Aliexpress.

Last night I ordered three sheets of Hurricane 3 provincial blue sponge because I did not plan to spend $300+ on TT11 anytime soon. Also single day sale with 2-4% off here and there, and $30 off on order of $200 did bring the price down below what TT11 charges after 30% bulk discount is applied.

I ordered for just around 95 euros after coupons and discounts:

2x Friendship Legend 802 SP Medium Soft
2x Loki Rxton 3 Blue
2x DHS Rubber protector
1x Yinhe T11s
1x Friendship glue 100ml

Eager to try the Legend 802 SP. Got the 802-40 Mystery III right now and I am hoping for a more controlled and softer experience, loving the switch to SP on my BH so far.

Hoping that the Loki Rxton 3 is also good FH rubber on Balsa Carbon blades. I really want to move back to the lightness of a balsa blade, so I am glueing 2 similar setups with Loki Rxton 3 on FH, Legend 802 SP on BH, on the Yinhe T11s and a Butterfly BalsaCarbo X7 2022 I already have, expecting the Yinhe blade to be a bit harder.
