Andro Legacy Wosik - Initial Thoughts

I wanted a 5 ply blade that wasn't too flexy and had a Koto outer. That's surprisingly rare, so when Andro released their Legacy Wosik, I was excited. So far, it's a great quality blade for the price.

Specs:

Headsize - 157x151mm

Handle size - Square ST 23x28.5mm

Thickness ~ 5.8mm

Balance - 2.6cm at 86g

Composition - Koto-Ayous-Ayous

I am used to using a Timo Boll Spirit, and this felt extremely similar. The Koto outer makes the contact feel very precise, unlike the soft and bouncy Limba outer blades in this category. As a result, the short game is so good, without being mushy. On hard drives, the feedback in the hand gives you confidence to hit through it without being distracting. The thinness grants good flex for looping, but not so much that there's a massive arc. It feels like a Viscaria/TBS but slower and with better feeling. I could see someone starting with this blade, then using a Hugo HAL, and finally Viscaria as a very natural progression.

I will update this as I use more often.

Handsome blade. Not too often you see companies releasing blades for players that have long since retired from world competition, I think last I remember was Victas releasing blades for Jiang Jialiang and Norio Takashima

I put some wood polish on the handle because it looked dry and it's beautiful now. Handsome indeed!

Thanks for bringing this blade to our attention, it is probably slightly slower than the Korbel Speed/Hadraw VK that I am looking for but it seems to have a very similar design and since I am using Zyre 03, there is room for a match.

This is legitimately all wood offensive blade, and it was surprisingly too fast compared to my Hadraw VK for me to use both together with Zyre 03. Handle was a bit fat and with Zyre 03 it was definitely head heavy, but those things I can all adjust to. I would say that if you want a Viscaria type blade without any composites, this is a good choice. It didn't glove-fit for me (I can play with it, but it loses what makes my game special, I trade spin for speed and I have learned it is not a good trade for me, but this is me, others might have a different experience, especially as they would not use it with Zyre 03 Max). I can see someone using this with Glayzer for a good setup. Or any rubber in general. Maybe I should have tried to find a lighter one. But for now, it will join my blade collection while getting a generally positive review. For the price, it is definitely a good blade for someone out there.

Similar to Falcima?

Never used the Falcima. Ayous I believe is heavier than Kiri so this might be more head heavy.
Ayous is more heavy than Kiri, this is true. Mine was head heavy by my standards, That being said, the handle is pretty large so it offsets that feeling somewhat.

Part of it is that I used a heavy rubber (for Butterfly at least). But it also feeds the speed.
