Ok my wife also started learning to play recently and I managed to coach her to actually play a serviceable intro BH antispin game (my aim is anti pushblocking + a nasty FH loop combo LOL because it is the easiest shortcut) using my spare racket.

Unfortunately, my D05 on FH is just way, way too fast for her to control, so i am thinking of getting a more appropriate setup for her.

What are some recommendations for some easier to use FH spin insensitive inverted rubber? I heard people recommend Rozena or Vega Intro?

And what blade to pair it with? Should I just go for a 5 ply blade?

I coached her using Butterfly Super Anti lol. Should I get another anti or just stick to Butterfly Super Anti?

If she isn't planning on getting more serious then a very basic 5-ply like Butterfly X-star V, and a boring old rubber like Mark V or Xiom Musa II + the Super Anti will be the safest path and not break the bank. If you actually plan to teach her FH looping, a better blade like a Korbel JP or Yinhe U2 would be worth the investment. Yinhe U2 + Mercury II Soft would be a great, cheap looper setup, and I think the harder koto would pair well with the Super Anti.

Yinhe U2 is a great budget blade. I'd go for a controlled tensor like R7 Soft or Vega Europe, to give her the most ease of use but also give her forehand some room to grow.

Looking forward to seeing the next Sabine Winter in action :)
Yeah it was really quite interesting indeed coz it was literally the 1st 2 hrs playing. She actually can generate some fairly decent topspin with a largely arm only FH stroke with the Viscaria + D05 setup but tbh i think it looked too funky (due to complete lack of body usage) so I think slower setup and rubbers are the way to go haha. I had a lot more success coaching her on the BH antispin, even managed to get a 1 push 1 counter rally going (albeit i had to keep it relatively slow). Most important thing was to keep it very fun and have a sense of achievement.

I think BH antispin does simplify the game a lot for her too as I know there are lots of nasty serves out there if she joins some socials lol.
