i come from using dhs skyline tg2 neo orange for many years and decided to swap to hybrid due to my injuries, have tested some rubbers like 09c and c53 but eventually settled on bluegrip c2 the only rubber i can tolerate for now.

i would like to know exactly the difference between c2 and j1 if anyone has made that switch. (unboosted as i come from using chinese rubber, c2 is already feeling slightly bouncy even unboosted)

would j1 have better / slower touch?
would j1 need slightly more activation than c2 since j1 is supposedly harder in feel?
j1 vs c2 arc/throw angle?
tackiness?

thanks in advance for anyone that has these answers.

J1 feels slightly harder, and I think it does need a bit more impact than C2, but I think it generates arc a bit better than C2 especially on more active shots

I saw a couple of posts mentioning that it would be interesting to compare the Nuzn 55 and J1, does anyone have any updates on that?

I've been playing with the J1 for a while now, and it has many qualities that I like, but I'd like something similar with a more linear response. (I think one reviewer described the J1 as having a "non-linear" response, which is a bit too difficult for me to handle.)

I'm considering switching to an outer carbon blade to engage the sponge earlier, but I'm afraid I won't be able to handle the speed…

You should complete Zhang Jike's setup and get his blade with your J1 rubbers 😂

I think you should compare C2 to J2, not J1

There's a chance you might get along better with J2. Nuzn55 and J1 both feel hard, N55 maybe a bit softer, but you gotta hit hard with both rubbers to get them to sing. Still it might be worth giving a try because there are some similarities between the two, Nuzn feels more like a Euro rubber and J1 feels more Chinese but both are fast and powerful rubbers that can also spin the ball well. On the other hand J2 is softer and slower, but is less demanding and more forgiving.
