Have you had some success boosting ESN rubbers? Which booster do you use and how many layers do you put? How does the performance of the rubber change after boosting? What rubber did you boost?

I have experimented just lightly on boosting ESN rubbers, but I haven't had much success. I haven't found any noticeable increase in rebound.

I had 2 rubbers, a Evolution ELS and Rasanter R45 on the same blade. Just from the bounce test, they seemed to have the same amount of rebound (which is not surprising because they are the same hardness).

I tried boosting just the R45 with one layer of Seamoon. After several hours, the rubber curled up significantly, from flat to pretty much 90degree angle. But when I glue the R45 back onto the same blade, it still seems to have the same rebound as the ELS.

Why would the rubber curl up so much but not increase in bounciness?

Sometimes tinkering with something already good / perfect can have unwanted side effects.

Try boosting harder tensors?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it will work on 50d and above tensors.

But I still want to know whether booster works on these softer, 45-47d tensors. Anybody have experience?
I use 47.5 degree ESN hardness and love the trampoline effect. I suspect adding some additive will probably make it mushy and negate / reduce the trampoline effect. If I wanted a mushier effect I would just get a 45 / 42.5 instead. Why should I bother with that extra work of applying some additive?

I only boost old ESN rubber to expand them for a better fit to my practice blade. I use them only to practice on my return board. The 47.5 sponge shrink again after 4 to 5 weeks. The 52,5 sponge react more and stay expanded longer. I don't see any real diffecernces in rebound, but it's not what i'm looking for. I never boost new ESN rubber.

Thats helpful information. So no increase in rebound?

What booster do you use?

I tried boosting some ESN and those spring sponge rubbers. All of them are heavily used (no one's crazy enough to boost brand new ESN-made/spring sponge rubbers in here :ROFLMAO:)

For me, It all ended up mushier. But the owner somehow likes it, he feels it's much more playable for its current condition

I boosted DNA Pro H and M with seamoon, 3 thin layers to the H, 2 thin layers from the M.

3 layers was a bit much, and I have to brush the ball more with the H, 2 thin layers on the M was perfect.
How did the M respond to seamoon? more rebound?
