Hi everyone,

I'm searching for my new BH rubber. I would like this rubber to be one of the Vega series, by Xiom.

I will be using Vega Pro or Vega Tour on my FH.

On my BH, I like to loop and block, close to the table. My blade is OFF

Do you guys have some recommendations ?
Maybe Vega Europe ?

Thank you for you help !

Why must it be in the Vega series by XIOM? Are you getting special discounts? If not I'd recommend the Stiga Mantra Pro H which can be had for very reasonable prices from aliexpress and performs better in terms of control and stability than any of the Vega series in my opinion.

Vega Pro / Vega X are really good choices. They are pretty much the same except Vega X is the "updated" version of vega pro.

Thank you !

I would recommend vega Korea. Great rubber with lots of control and super reliable for making heavy spin shots if you prioritise spin over speed.

Either that or Vega X if you prefer speed over spin and have (or are prepared to work on gaining) the confidence and technique to use it.

Both are fantastic rubbers for close to the table attack play in my experience.

I would argue the M version is better for bh than the H version because it is easier to compress the sponge

I found Vega Europe to be rather dead in the spin department. Super safe rubber for recieve of serves IMO. Decent for quick rallies close to the table where you don't get the most amount of spin.

I have been playing Vega Pro on the backhand for a long time. I also tried playing Vega Asia and Vega Europe and what can I say about this.
Vega Pro is actually very fast and in some ways unforgiving and in some ways very forgiving rubber. This rubber plays damn well the first 2 weeks, comparable to T05, but after a month the topsheet stops biting the ball so much, but the grip remains at a good level and this condition lasts for a very, very long time. Therefore, it is wonderful to roll it and play in the counter, the second and third zones are great, but as for the banana and bottom spin, everything is not so good here, I lack bite. In addition, due to the high speed of Vega Pro, it is better not to put it on a fast blade, All + or Off - are better.
Vega Europe has exactly the same topsheet, but a softer sponge, so it is easier to play with it, but its speed on fast hits is lower than Vega Pro and the weight is also slightly lower. Vega Europe already plays better on the blade Off.
Otherwise, for most players this will be a more balanced choice.
Vega Asia has a different structure of pimples with the same sponge as Vega Pro - pimples are much less common. This makes the rubber surface much softer, reduces the throw angle and reduces the overall weight. It would seem that the name Asia suggests a harder rubber, but in fact this is not the case and I think that the point is this. Xiom positioned this rubber as a replacement for Butterfly T64. that Zhang Jike played with on the backhand. I can find only this explanation for this.
This rubber needs to be constantly pressed. But if you do this, you can get very powerful topspins, especially from the second zone. In addition, this rubber is not sensitive to incoming spin, which also makes the game easier.
