I have played with Fastarc G1 in 2.0 on my backhand for at least 3 years. The blade is a Timo Boll ALC. I have tried a variety of other rubbers, including Fastarc C1 and Dignics, but always go back.

If you want a modern 7-ply with 5ply feeling, my recommendation is the Bernadette Szocs Signature 1. IT is a blade I would happily play with and I still may. But it is definitely thicker than your 6mm limit, but I love the feeling and the handle. I do not like the Powerwood, but since we have strong supporters of that blade, I will keep the feeling to myself.

But if you get the JRE, that is a good blade too. Good luck with it.
This B.Szocs S1 is on sale at 37 euro. Not bad at all...

Hello everyone,
I'd like to try Nittaku Fastarc G-1 and it looks to me reading some reviews this rubber is best with all wood blades.

I'm also interested in Joola Rossi Emotion, Donic Persson Powerplay and Tibhar Stratus Powerwood. In particular the JRE is currently on discount.

Would JRE be a good candidate for G-1?

Thanks.
I would say try a nittaku acoustic carbon (inner or outer depending on your playstyle).

According to the chinese philospy and pingsunday
best racket setup is hard rubbers paired with flexible blade,
and since G1 is liek a 47-50 degreeish rubber, so id reccomend DHS Power G7, its cheap, was formerly used by ma long. And it has decent speed with good control.

PingSunday is a grifter.
Just interested, why do you say this?
Do you disagree with him regarding the importance of the Blade?
I don't know Ping Sunday and have read very little apart from top 10 rubbers etc but Chinese way is to use hard rubbers and recommend blades with good feeling, this is absolutely true.
Is there something else particularly that makes you dislike?

Ping Sunday calls himself a table tennis expert, but what are his credentials? Who has he actually coached? We don't even know his real name. I've seen him make ridiculously clickbait videos like "TOP 10 BEST BH RUBBERS OF ALL TIME" and he's literally reading reviews word for word off revspin.

Take whatever he says with a pinch of salt, there's far more knowledgeable people posting on this forum.

I think G-1 is a hard rubber so I like to put it on a 5-ply all wood blade such as Tibhar Stratus Powerwood. I tried that combination for 3-4 years, hurricane 3 neo on the forehand side and G-1 on the backhand side.

I think Tibhar B. Szöcs Signature 1 might be similiar in composition to Tibhar Stratus Powerwood so I have not bought or tried Szocs' signature blade.

Be careful, it's a sect with lots of followers calling him a guru 😂
I find his tone too pathetic.

Best for what? Fast stiff blades are also very popular in Asian market including China.

I have used G-1 on the backhand on Rutis Revo, a thin (6mm) 3+2. Its predecessor Rutis has similar elasticity measurements to fast 5+2 innerfibre/ slow 5+2 outerfibre blades (https://ttgearlab.com/2024/03/15/performance-indices-db-32-ply-blades/).

Mima Ito supposedly use G-1 on forehand with her signature blade (sure, her equipment is different to the commercial version), which is on par with Viscaria in terms of elasticity (https://ttgearlab.com/2023/12/20/nittaku-mima-ito-carbon-acoustic-carbon-full-review/). IMO G-1 can be used on fast stiff blades.

Whilst I never tried G-1 on other blades, I felt that it can be used in similar ways as some Chinese rubbers despite being non-tacky, as its sponge has good support and its surface provides ample grip, so it could work well with softer wooden blades as well.

Tibhar B. Szöcs Signature 1 + FH G-1 BH Stiga Mantra Sound

The racquet configuration I am using
This is a very well balanced blade with consistent ball control inside the table, high hitting rates on forehand and backhand spin, and a combination of continuity and penetration that gives me confidence in my game.

Best for looping I'd say, however there are many smashers and blockers at lover amateur levels with different preferences.
Definitely there are, and when you play enough that you can identify your strengths and preferences then you are well positioned to decide your best setup.
But up until that stage I think the point of starting with a blade that has feeling is very important and most coaches in China do recommend this along with the typical Chinese rubbers selections.
Btw I'm not advocating for or against PingSunday here. I found some of his articles useful when I returned to the game a few yrs back so was interested in other opinions on him is all.

He does produce some useful content, but it's stuff he's stolen from elsewhere. Like i say, he's just a grifter out to make money from the TT community.
