I think it could work really well.buying no more equipment after this is my plan. I was thinking because I’ve played carbon for the past year and a half, switching might throw me off. So an inner carbon blade on the low end like the MLC with Rozena and a G-1 would be my thoughts. Would this setup compare to the Korbel, Rozena, G09C?
I settled on inner carbon myself after the MLEO and I find it works for loops and short game, no issues. Ok, a month or more to feel like I knew the blade well enough for matches but that was it
A friends FZD ALC had too much kick in it so inner carbon was the step below that.
G1 is excellent, most folk would recommend that on FH without hesitation.
Now I've never used Rozena but by all accounts it is a very good rubber to learn and develop with so for me it's on the the yes list along with Rakza 7, Andro R45 and similar.
Well, if you're absolutely confident in your basic tech then drills will be enough right cos you just need to take the rust off.About the coaching, the ‘coach’ at my club is not good, (don’t ask why or how, it would take too long to explain) but I could get coaching elsewhere. The question is, would it be more beneficial to train 3-4 hours per week doing drills with my friends or 1-1.5 hours per week on coaching?
But for me the coaching has made the biggest difference.
I do plenty of drills with friends also but without the proper guidance I was just practicing poor technique in each drill.
I've found that even a monthly session with a coach is enough because then I know what to work on then for the next 4 wks.
So I would recommend anyone to start with the coaching. It will almost certainly guarantee you the fastest path to improvement.
