Have any of you tried boosting short pips? And if so, how did it turn out?

I am having a hard time finding 802-40 soft sponge version, so I am thinking of trying to boost the hard sponge version.

Also on that note, does anyone know where to find 802-40 soft?
Never heard about the soft sponge version but why bother, soft sponges are overrated.
I have a boosted 802-40 mystery III in the moment fitted to a Victas blockman II and can get good spin out of it. Can use it fine with BH serves but flipping incoming backspin is not in my capabilities but maybe in the right, young and fast wrist even this could be done.

I tried boosting 802-40, it definitely gave more spin and speed but mostly on hard hits. If you really commit to the shot and have good aim then you'll get a pretty significant increase in spin and speed. You have to generally play with more confidence and aggression. Soft touches become harder, because there isn't really an increase in grip.
