I've never tried the Fang Bo Carbon but from what I've read, they tend to be a bit faster on the low end and stiffer even though it has generally the same composition. Maybe it's a less stringent QA or wood selection process or a more economic construction method. It's relatively affordable so you can get it and compare it with a club member's HL5 and let us know.

Kapinoy. Haha. Well, I tried the Xiom ALX 36.5 and from what I have experienced, it's there. The feeling is great. You have that all wood sensation pero there is the carbon kick. You can try it if you want an outer carbon blade. But if you really want an almost all wood feel, I suggest you get any inner carbon blade.

I doubt you'll hear much different two years later. The fundamentals of blade construction haven't really changed that much. I was impressed with the Stuor Professional Long 5 (HL5 clone), but it still has nowhere near the touch of the Yasaka Sweden Extra I started with. I eventually settled on the JOOLA Rossi Emotion as a happy medium; maybe try that?

Alternatively, there are a few blades with plant fiber reinforcement (CNF) instead of carbon, e.g. the BTY Revoldia CNF, that supposedly offers the feeling of carbon on attacking shots but better touch on soft and medium shots. (Stuor offers a cheaper clone of that, too.) I haven't seen many people using them, but "feeling" is very personal and subjective so maybe it would suit you.

Actually, you are right. I have used stuor cnf, I like the feel but the handle is too small.

Actually, you are right. I have used stuor cnf, I like the feel but the handle is too smaI've ll.

I've tried Loki Telson CNF - the playing characteristics are somewhere between Korbel and Viscaria. It is pretty fast, feels kinda hard on softer shots and soft on harder shots. All forehand shots are landing on the table with decent pace and a lot of spin, but i prefer backhand on my AJH TMXi by a mile because it is softer on brushing strokes and i guess i just don't have the technic for the consistent backhand loop-drive as on the forehand side.
And my main gripe with Loki is that it is totally muted!

At the beginning it’s easy to identify the outer ply of your preference first, then the intermediate plies and finally the core with some research. This sequence usually makes it easier to start narrowing things down to fit you.

Typical outer plies are limba, koto and hinoki - with some blades using anigre, dark hardwoods, ayous, white ash or spruce, etc
Intermediate layers usually consists of spruce, ayous, limba.
Cores commonly use ayous or kiri, sometimes balsa or hinoki.

Once you understand the type of profile you like, it’s just a matter of finding a blade with a similar wood ply construction with the addition of a composite containing key words describing flexibility, softness, wood feeling, thin weave, dampening, etc. Usually this marketing gives a clue to the designers intent and whether their aim is to keep the blade closer to all wood feel.

That's a very good advice. So far i think i've managed to determine 3 things:
1. I do prefer outer limba and spruce over koto.
2. I like a clear feedback upon ball contact. That's why i don't like new alc blades much - they are muted. But i do like allwood and zylon for the clear vibrations. Though zlc is way too hard, so inner ZLF is the best i guess.
3. I believe i like kiri core more.

I've briefly tried a friends Fukuhara and it was very nice! Soft touch, beautiful vibrations, though i could definitly feel the ayous core in it, but it didn't spoil the fun The problem is it's hard to get beacause it has been discontinued.
Liu Shiwen is discontinued as well.
Pro Pro blade looks like a promising concept!
