any particular reason why Ding Ning was so smiley?

If I could play like that, I'd be smiling all the time. Bigly. Unwavering, stupidly happy, shit-eating grins all day long. With that spectacular ring of chearleaders kicking the game off maybe even more so.

[Edit: drat, I thought I had managed to drown out these choirs of fans cheering loudly for ZJK, a herd of them manages to top that alternatingly for LSW and DN. Awesome. Somewhat smiledraining, though.]

It took a bt of searching to understand NL's post, but my my my...
4) Xu Xin 3:0 Ma Long (12:10, 11:7, 12:10)

It is just my.observation but ML is trying too hard to follow FZD/LGY type of fast short stroke off the bounce counter game. And this is messing up his entire game. He cant hit his full stroke forehand because he is too close to table. And his half strokes are pathetic. Cant seem to find his rhythm at all.

It's no mystery. The Chinese team is adjusting to the Tomokazu Harimoto tactics. They have to. The only monster player who has adjusted believe it or not, is Dima Ovcharov, they all better learn it. I can predict what they will all do next, and that is add the Waldner tricky direction block. In general, all the top players will have to raise their tactical game over the coming year. The simple power play of the cloud-walker will not be enough to dominate, as it has for ten years.

I agree. I see that pattern too.

But i also have to admit that XX was doing a lot more banana flicks. The success rate was also higher than usual. That's something XX has been working on.

What's XX's new blade by the way? Does anyone know?
