Choice of all-wood offensive blade - Survey

I’d say some of the newest all wood blades since those are 100% made for the new ball. For instance, if you want to use Viscaria or FZD ALC in the future, switching to Butterfly Falcima is a good idea, it’s the same with Sanwei Fextra and DHS long 5, 7ply limba-ayous-> 5+2ply limba+ayous+alc.

With Falcima being as fast or faster than some carbon blades one might not even ‘need’ one, but that depends on preference and feel, and also how far someone might play off the table I guess.

Yasaka Extra is still an good blade and is close enough to some of these. The one thing I will say is that the Acoustic can be the beginning of a progression to Carbon. None of the other blades offer that path.

I know this is an old post, but Im curious as to what composite blade you’d suggest for someone playing with an Acoustic?

I’m confused. What sort of FZD ALC feels very close to all wood? You can definitely feel the carbon in it

Sorry should’ve been more specific. FZD ALC probably has the most clear softest feel among all outer ALC.

Close to table the feedback is very clear and soft. Even more clear and softer than hard all wood such as Emrald V which is so hard I couldn’t feel much.

I am been using Hugo HAL (Koto outer) and wanted to try out a Limba blade again.
I can currently get Nittaku Acoustic or Acoustic Inner Carbon for a good price on 2nd hand market.
Any comparison between the two? What do you recommend?
My setup is Chinese Rubber on FH, Tensor on BH
