recently wrote about my experiences with custom blades, maybe this will blow your mind and change your perspective of life altogether.

hey kukamonga ,
i just read your article , im sorry you had that experience but you don't have to make it general !
first of all you said custom blade sellers buy their woods from their providers that is true , but , you should know also that the biggest brands of table tennis do also buy their woods from their providers and do not cut it by themselves .

another thing is that custom handmade blades are not made to be just like the commercial ones , custom blades are special blades and that can be in the play style or in the design , and even commercial ones from the same brand and same blade do not play the same , one is slightly different than the others . and there's so much to say about this subject ...

and finally there exist no such a thing as the perfect blade . the blade is just a tool to a table tennis player .

i hope that will change your mind , and take care my friend :) ;)

I wouldn't say it was a bad experience.
But before I got into this I had the idea that I could imagine any blade whatsoever and it could be built.
It's not like that.
First you have to check what the seller actually has and then from there you choose what you want.

In the beginning I imagined maybe you would say for example "I want the center ply to be ayous 2.7 thickness".
So the blade maker would go to their wood provider and ask for ayous of 2.7
The wood provider would actually go and cut the ayous for them to 2.7
So in this case yeah you could build anything you want.
But it's not how it works in reality.
