If he was a Danish champion he will wipe the floor with us, even at 65 years of age. And i mean like really bad.

Oh really?!!! Then i will avoid to play against him, hahaha

Well, in all cases if he will come on time and join next Tuesday then i will go and watch him and see, if there is a chance to beat him then i will play against him, but if he wipes the floor with other players there then i just better keep watching, lol

Which clipper blade that you all talk about? i saw there are several models of Clipper, so which one is your favorite?

Well I can't speak for everybody but what brought up the clipper talk was the pics I posted. It's a clipper classic. I guess I've always assumed that if someone just says clipper, they mean classic. Because yeah I'm with ya. They should designate what clipper they're talking about otherwise.

I think it says over 45 champion. I could be wrong. And I am not sure what the Danish rating is, but maybe it is like the German TTR rating system.

Tareq, what do you have to lose in seeing what he plays like?

You are right, i will lose the game anyway, hahaha

I will see if i can be free or available that day if he will be here on time and join, who knows, i may beat him, or learn from him even if he beats me to the floor.

About ratings, i thought that European ratings are almost similar to each other, England to Germany to France to Portugal, i don't think they will have so big difference in rating between each other, but how is that European rating compared to US rating anyway.

Exactly, i can easily say also from BTY Timo Boll blade, there are several models, or saying DHS Hurricane blade, so i hope members can have little time to write the full model name.

These two guys were talking really loud right near the table and I was so distracted.

...

I was so stressed while these guys were talking.

I'm sure you know of my club, LBH, not sure if you ever played there. Coming from the relatively quiet Wang Chen club, it was a total shock for me when i joined LBH in April. People walking to and fro to the weight rooms. People waiting to play next on some tables will literally be within 3 feet of the table (some tables are cramped).

And then there's at least 3 members who CHO LOUD! I think i've gotten used to the change of clubs with the exception of players waiting for next sitting so close to the table hampering my pivot for 3rd ball attack.

I also got a match from a guy I have never gotten a match from. But I am actually confident he played to lose the last game of the match.

Congratulations! Just curious - did you get a sense why he deliberately lost the last game of the match?

"Rocket" serve practice.

Looking good Sir!

Your motion reminds me of what 42andbackpains showed me. For now, my rocket serves are not like your/42&bp's motion... i close my racket ... something i will work on, but this will be sometime way later, working on too many things now LOL

Thank you as always for your videos.

You wouldn't need any I'm sure! I have only played against one Pen Holder and I lost 3-1!

He was an ex-national player for Ireland but still...

LOL - i'm the first to tell you I'm not delusional in thinking i'm ~2500 or some national/ex-national player so i still stand by 9 points!

It is always good to know someone has watched the videos as it literally took me 24 hr non stop to upload them, due to how slow internet is here.

You mentioned that before and i neglected to mention then, wow at slooooow internet. THANK YOU FOR POSTING YOUR VIDEOS THEN!!

I always watch your videos! I watch because you provide a model for me ... it's one thing to be coached by NextLevel and Der_Echte, both SH, but it's another thing to actually watch a PH do the things I'm focusing on. And you do those things so well - relaxed and with ease! I still rush occasionally.

Yeah the injury on my index finger is bad. It is still swollen and I have deep pain still. I made so many unforced error it was painful to watch the video.

Speedy and healthy recovery again!

I haven't played you so maybe your level is higher than mine

You are more consistent with the serve and 3rd ball loop than i am, you are at least 2 levels if not 3 above me. I still struggle with consistency in my regular game as well as being consistent with the looping, serve/3rd ball loop. Plus you got that automatic RPB!

I look forward to playing you one day! Thank you si-hing!

------------------------------------------

Hmmm... thought i posted my report of Weds night... looks like i didn't.

Weds

A gentleman i've hit/played with before joined me on an open table. He is consistent in his game. My game is still in flux as i've been focusing on adjusting to new racket as well as trying to improve my loop and serves. i may be his level or give or take 1 level.

Started with my gameplan of only:

1) short pendulum motion
2) down/sidedown serves various placement
3) looking for 3rd ball controlled loop

No video. Lost 2 straight fairly easily ... LOL. Then I kind of broke my promise to myself of only sticking to my gameplan... last week I played a 2000 player and stuck to the gameplan... he was not playing at his true level though. I would not play my regular game as generally would not have a chance to win the match.

So after losing 2 straight, i decided to mix in my regular game... rationalizing it as if i lose the 3rd game, i would have to wait for another table ... since i'm on this table already, i may as well try to stretch out my playing time ... i didn't care if i win or lose vs him, although, i think he thinks he is better than many players including me. (Our history: played him my first time ever, i was super tired, i lost 2 straight easily and called it a night apologizing to him for not finishing the match. 2nd time, i beat him 3-1 or 3-0. 3rd time, he didn't remember playing me before. He beat me 3-1 or 3-2.)

Playing my regular game of serve rocket serves, sidetop, block/punch and smash, and mixing in the slow 3rd ball controlled loop, i took the next 3 games to win the match. I was a little winded when he asked for an immediate rematch. No one else on the table, gives me a chance to work on the gameplan again, so we immediatedly started our 2nd match. He won 3 straight but close games. I got to work some of the gameplan but still need a lot of work on it.

Took a break and then I hit with K for 15 mins next. Although i jokingly call him my arch-nemesis, he is a good steady practice partner and has been giving me pointers (for me they are reminders as NextLevel and Der_Echte helped me with the same things K says ... LOL at my old man memory)

K took a break and told me to hit with T. T is probably the 3rd oldest player in our club, late 70's. Very experienced, gentleman who gives pointers when he sees his partners need help. He gave me a few pointers too. So much in my head, so much to work on lol

Thanked both K and T for their time and help and called it a night.

You are too humble OSP!
I still rush in my games, and that's when I do some self talking to try calm myself down.
My serves are not good either, so when I do start playing again (end of Dec or next year), it will be one of the things I need to work on again. It will probably take me even longer to get the serve feeling back from stopping the playing for prolonged period of time!

Thank you for your compliment and good wishes! But you are still giving me 9 points right? (I still remember) :D

"Rocket" serve practice.

Nice serves and nice accuracy, NL (as usual...)
[Emoji106]
I think you´ve wrote it in a former post yourself, but i think aiming for small targets like a broke ping pong ball placed in the corners e.g. would help your accuracy immense.
i try to practice serves at least once a month, but maybe i should change it to once a week...

For whatever reason, how loud and steady this was, really was making me stress out. Everything else was quite. There were only 5 people in the club and without them, there would have been silence. Spin also has a pretty crazy, distracting environment. But that never bothers me. I'm not sure why this was making me so stressed out. But both guys have VERY loud, penetrating voices.

I am pretty sure it was that he wanted me to play the penholder who was waiting to play next. He has played the guy many times. He is a notch and a half or two better than either of us and I think he knew that the pips player and I are at about the same level. Close enough.

I actually was hoping to see him play the pips player so I told him I was going to take a break and he could stay on the table and M said: "I am going to take a break. You stay on."

I still played well enough to be happy. But I am not fooled into thinking I am better than I am. :)

I got quite a few monster counterloops that felt awesome.

Oh yeah, you play at SPIN. So yeah, it is strange those 2 got to you. I neglected to mention in addition to a weight room at my club, there's an Olympic Lifting area. The O-lifters after their lift generally just let the weight drop... LOTS OF NOISE!

I am pretty sure it was that he wanted me to play the penholder who was waiting to play next.

Ah ok, that makes sense.

Yes, we have 1 or 2 like that, no need to add you or me to that list :)

I got quite a few monster counterloops that felt awesome.

AWESOME! I am nowhere near counterlooping yet, so yeah, er, spot me 9 next time we play :)
