DHS Hurricane 3 versions in 2025

Hi, this thread will be focused on a Hurricane 3 versions and everything around it in 2025? To make it clean for everyone. Preferred talk is Forehand rubber but Backhand is also appreciated
- Why 2025? there are informations that some versions are not tacky anymore, not performing like older batches. Do Batches still differ from sheet to sheet in 2025?
- Is Hurricane 3 still worth buying and boosting in 2025? Or is just better to stick with Dignics09c?
- Hurricane 3 versus Victas Triple Double Extra / Battle 2 / Nittaku Hurricane 3 Turbo Pro blue / Dignics09c / Donic Bluestar C2
- How do you re-boost your rubber? / How many times till it's dead? Does National version last longer with re-boosts?
- best shop with genuine Hurricane 3 rubbers for the best price in 2025? (is prott.vip selling genuine Hurricane rubbers? Prott offers national blue sponge for about 54$ its cheaper than TT11, also cheaper glues, national boosters etc. I personally bought W968 national player, but I received what I believe is still Gold Grand Slam version, this one is in the handle from the bottom with red background Ma Long, which I also saw Ma Long playing with this red background in 2024 in a video versus Fan Zhendong, but Prott claims Gold Grand Slam version is different and this is National Player version).

Any most useful info is appreciated, even how many layers of which booster you use on which exact hardness and thickness sheet with comparisons.
Preferred answers should be from more experienced players so we get together most valid informations, especially players who tried multiple variations and different rubbers.
Cheers.

There are tons of threads in this forum. Use the search function. Basically, everything has been said already. In a nutshell: no perfect rule, find out yourself what suits you the most (what booster, how many layers, first glue-then boost or the other way round, ...).

I've read a lot of threads in the tabletennis daily, but still not all things are clear, and they are also not updated in 2025 because DHS quality seem to differ each year or so.

You're being paranoid. It's a Chinese seller, selling a Chinese rubber for a decent price.

Just don't waste money on any national or player edition and you'll be fine.

Also, the shop has been mentioned multiple times in the past, so again, just search.

Yes the shop has been mentioned multiple times, and yet I've seen both saying fake and genuine at the same time, for example:

This kind of thread has been one of the dominant topics since I first started roaming TT threads back in like 2008 and before. Back when you had to 'know a guy' to get a provincial sheet. There are historical trends of confusion with hurricane that stem from one thing: QC/Consistency.

Everyone has their own 'idea' of what Hurricane is supposed to be like, and they derive this from one pleasant experience they had with one sheet, or from one comment online they read from someone that leaves the impression of knowing what they're talking about. Some people think they're supposed to be shiny, some people think matte. Some people think they're supposed to be so tacky that your finger gets stuck, some people think they're barely supposed to be tacky at all. Some people think the REAL national version is like some wildly different rubber (it's not) and some people think none of it matters.

It's so heavily manufactured. The only people who need to worry about fakes are the people who think they can buy ma longs personal rubber online. And even then probably not fake, just a real regular hurricane with some different packaging and some scribbles on it. If you want to use hurricane, or if you love hurricane, you have to accept that there will be differences and accept that they generally aren't THAT crazy.

tl;dr - the rubber has been so inconsistent over the years that it breeds confusion, and people love to be in the know. 100 different people will tell you everyone but them is wrong, and all of them are equally correct/incorrect.

Yes, the one you quoted, tokspin.

As for prott and the legitimacy of National stuff... Just don't buy the National stuff.

I'm not saying it's a scam altogether, but if there's so many different opinions and qualities, why even bother? If you have the level of play where the quality difference between National and Provincial matters, I'm sure you can also get a reliable supplier for it. Or just get in touch with DHS, because by that time they will definitely answer.
Many people have said it, Provincial is good for most decent players, and I think commercial is plenty enough to get a taste of it and play in the lower leagues. Yes, one sheet is noticeably harder than the other, but they still play mostly the same.
With Provincial those differences should be much smaller.

Agreed for the most part, but real national player version is wildly different from what you can purchase commercially, but not at a level that it affects anyone who is asking those types of questions on a forum. For most amateur and even low level pro players, the provincial versions would suffice perfectly fine. This statement holds true for any rubber not just Hurricane.

Commercial is shit. Hurricane QC is worse than most other brands rubbers. It's also prone to bubbling if you boost and hit hard.

Is it worth going from D09c forehand to Hurricane 3? considering it has to be boosted all the time. I personally never played with Hurricane's also never boosted rubber.

Don't bother if you don't want to boost
I would boost it, I saw recently couple of videos how to do it, all of them were different (everyone has their method) but noone really mentioned re-boosting, how many layers then, is the re-boost worth because it could damage the sponge to the point where it does not play good anymore, then it raises the question is it worth buying new sheet every month? is it worth if I have W968 that is vulnerable to splintering? Maybe not if I seal the blade every time? Also read somewhere about "kick in" effect, someone says its real, someone says if not, that rubber plays but and applies the booster after few hours of playing.

I don't reboost personally, there is always a risk of overboosting a rubber whether it is the first time or a reboosting, that is up to you to figure out if you want to bother with, if you don't want to bother, then use 09c or another hybrid

I use a H3 prov Blue sponge, but i also have two national OS waiting. Is there a way to boost them and glue them on a blade that not beeing used (just to try on different blades) without the booster effect disappearing? If i put them in a tight plastig bag, would that help? The booster will evaporate even when thay are not in use, so thats why i am thinking of a close environment. It helps my ej not to have several blades and switching to often, but i am also to curious to check other blades. I dont want to bother with reboosting.
