A little bit of bleach will kill the mold permanently and won't hurt the wood. You might want to check your house or apartment near wherever you store the blade to make sure you don't have mold there. You do not want to be breathing mold spores. Very bad for your health.

Don't know why I was reminded about this ad after reading your post :) .....

I saw the same problem with my mates who do not seal their blades. My place being tropical and very humid, these things happen. Once I sealed all my blades I never had issues like this.

This side was last glued like a year and a half ago i didn't remove the rubber on other side and planning to use a new rubber on that side also i'll tell you when i do that:)

If it is on one side, you sort of need to check if it is on the other side. Even if you glue the same rubber back on, you need to check if there is something growing on the other side too.

And, over time that will cause your blade to deteriorate and play slower and softer. So, yes, something that grows on the wood of your blade, like mold, will ultimately affect things.

After you use bleach to remove and kill the mold, you should seal it.
