Edgetape residue problem

I currently have Stiga and Butterfly (logo) edgetape. They both leave very sticky glue residue to my blade. What is the best way to get the glue off? Are there edgetape with different glue(which won't stick the same way)? Friend gave me foam edgetape from aliexpress. It has great glue but it looks bad.

i have notice some butterfly edge tape became very sticky after about 2 years.
i don't recall seeing residue left, what does it look like?

you get neottect glue removal sponge, maybe it can work on the edge too.

I use Butterfly edge tape and it leaves behind a slight residue (I change it every 6 months).

I've never managed to remove it completely, but rubbing your thumb/finger over it gets the vast majority off.

I then just stick new tape over it anyway!

You can use some sellotape or electrical tape. Basically dab the glue with the stick tape and it will pull it off. Works for me anyway! 😊

Unfortunately a sandpaper is needed for some cases.

If it gets too bad, I gently dab with a drop of white spirit on a bit of cloth. Very cautiously.
