ITTF has now got to decide between the two working conceptions of the pimples friction as now employed by China and Italy TT Associations respectively.
1. China did took a mild tolerant view of the friction limit, that implies the inclination plane at the angle of 17 degrees to horizontal.
2. Italy did opt for an exacting limit of 27 degrees.
We are now left to bring those two conceptions together and decide on some golden mean. Not easy task, anyway.

tg 30° = 0.57
The standard formulas to determine Coefficient of Friction when using a cylindrical weight sliding freely on fixed slope. (Yinhe product sanctioned by CTTA)
tg 27° =0.50 μ(s) = tan θ
tg 22° =0.40 μ(s) = tan θ
tg 17° =0.30 μ(s) = tan θ
μ(k) = μ(s) * 0.8 reasonable approximation
μ(k) -- kinetic coefficient of friction
μ(s) -- static coefficient of friction
μ(k) = 0.5 minumum friction limit for every pimples-out as stipulated by ITTF M4.
