So I am scratching my head here, wondering, why the blazing balls of Surtr do some rubbers come in a packaging with little round holes in them, exposing the rubber inside to air. As in the plastic wrap has holes by design.

Even if its not a factory boosted rubber isnt it better if its as sealed as possible so it ages slower, like dhs h3 neo if I remember correctly? Am I wrong about this and it doesn't matter?

actually, was just thinking about it due to other thread on this forum, where there was a bit of talking about boosting rubber and how long it is effective ...

and practically every review starts with "after opening up the package of the rubber, there was a sweet smell, indicating rubber is factory boosted" ... and I got a great offer about some rubber and was thinking of stocking it up, but then - ok, I buy 3 sets of rubber now, put one into play, but two sit on the shelf - does the factory boosting fade away like this? on the other hand, it was probably sitting on some shelf in the warehouse or on the shelf in the shop for some time, so - what does actually affect the factory boosting?

DONT WORRY OVER URINE SMELL.

Sweet odour will indicate factory tuning with mineral oil, and odour of rotten fish, urine is indicative of some processing additives e. g. liquid rubber softener.
