Hi all,
Sorry for the casual setting in the video. Just wanted to try out if i had enough space in my garage for practicing serves.
It just fits. Directly made some videos of my first attempt doing a reverse pendulum serve.

Are they any good or will they all be smashed? Because they have topspin i asume they will be easy to attack?
Any tips to keep them lower? And to make them faster, find that difficult.
Myself looking at the video it seems like i have only a small bat motion. Actually looking at the movie i am surprised because i had the feeling i was really rubbing at my best.

Thanks in advance

That's pretty good for very first time because for most it's a strange and difficult technique.
Make sure you bend your wrist inwards as much as it will go and then flick it back out as fast as you can. You're outward flick is slower than it needs to be.
After that there is the toss which needs to be just about perfect and also the body motion.
You want to incorporate hip rotation into the serve to help with the timing and also with the forwards motion and direction of the ball.
Then there's the backspin variant which requires that you come around the ball a bit more so your forward flick is directed more back to front under the ball, rather than left to right as you do it now.
All very well me writing this but probably only helpful if you can actually see it I think.
There is an excellent Craig Bryant video on this serve that I will link later on if I can find it.

@NetProphet Wow, thats a lot of info to process. I am glad it is not bad at all.
Curious about what is the right toss then?
For the back spin you say around the ball. I ahd the feeling i had to lift my elbow a bit more, is that correct then?

Like to see the link. I will also do a search myself on it. Thanks for the tip and feedback!

This is the link.
With the toss I just find its very important to control it so the ball makes contact with your racket exactly where you want it to.
Of course this is important for all serves but personally it seems of extra importance for this one because of how compact it all is.

Anyway, the video should explain all you need

Thanks for the link! I am gonna work on it :)
It looks like you've got the motion down, I'd just suggest speeding up your action and getting more snap in the wrist
Hi Ian, do you mean with 'the motion down' that the direction is going down or the speed is going down?
When looking at the video of Craig and his hand movement flexibility i was really laphing about myself. I really have to work on my wrist movement/speed/flexibility 😅

"Have ___ down" is an English expression that means you are doing something correctly. So "you've got the motion down" means you're doing the serve motion correctly. It just needs more acceleration.
