Hello,

I play an Asian-style game using my backhand and forehand.

I use a Fang Zhendong ZLC with DIGNICS 05 on my forehand and DR EVIL OX on my backhand.

I feel I lack confidence on my forehand, as I’m a player who really scrapes the ball.

My attacking power relies entirely on my forehand, and I don’t quite feel comfortable or confident with the blade and rubber I’m using. I need to build up a lot of confidence.

I’m an advanced player and have been playing for many years.

Could you please help me?

If you would like to stick with Butterfly on the forehand, then Butterfly Rozena would give you good confidence. I used it on my backhand a few years ago and it got me confident in doing backhand flicks and just doing backhand in general, and I had tried it on my forehand and it was decent.

Using FH inverted & BH OX LP as me do you have always the same problems to get the perfect blade for you:

-I owned a TB ZLC so if not equal very similar to FZD ZLC, my feeling was not a flex blade, hard & fast so very good for smash, not so very good for FH looping nor to control the BH OX LP if you play close to the table but very good reversal.

-Lately bought a Viscaria outer ALC, a lot of flex, stiff but not hard, not good for smash, very good for FH looping, feels less speed due to the high flex, more control and due to the flex some dampening for BH OX LP but of course less reversal than ZLC.

Resuming no better or perfect blade for us but depending how do you play one blade will fit better or not:

-If you play close to the table and have enough skills to control the ZLC with the BH OX LP & using your FH only to smash to finish the point killing the ball, the best is ZLC.

-If you play close to the table Viscaria ALC flex helps a lot the control for BH OX LP because dampens the speed & using your FH for easy topspin due to the flex, the best is ALC. Also for me Viscaria ALC performs better to serve than ZLC but that's could be personal feeling.

N.B. don't forget the blade weight it's very important.
