First try - W968 Ma Long edition

Ok maybe to clarify a few different W968 first:

1. W968 provincial
2. W968 national
3. W968 Gold
4. W968 with named athlete (#10+)
5. W968 with named athlete (#1-10)

My friend used to play for the Tianjin team, definitely a semi-pro in China. He said W968 with named athlete (#1-10) has the best feel and quality. His W968 is #8, with Ma Long's name on it. There are W968 with other athelete's name such as Liang Jingkun.

He let me try his expensive blade ($770USD+ 🤯). OMG I this blade is a totally different beast vs W968 provincial.

• Feedback - feedback is exceptionally clear!! Much better than W968 provincial, even better than my FZD ALC
• Power loop - woah just woah!! The ball just lands itself. The consistency is great. You can feel that "bite" into the blade. Unlike other W968, this one does not jump from gear 4 to 10 suddenly. It's a lot more linear. But when you put in 10/10, you get the W968 catapult power when you fully activates the inner ALC.
• BH - in contrast to what people say, this one gives more crisp BH. Not as good as Vis but much better than other W968.

W968 or any 968 series is a black hole, so many different versions, confusing and tbh, very expensive for its quality. I've heard many complain even a $500 national W968 feels muted like a brick. No doubt this $770 one is amazing and great, but too expensive for most. Resale is a big issue for W968.

And you think it's all the blade and not the fact that this dude probably took very good care about how to boost the rubbers and change the rubbers frequently too keep the top notch performance?
Without you using your rubbers on it, I would not give too much about these experiences.

His FH rubber is just a provincial H3, yes boosted but much older than mine 🤣🤣🤣
