Not sure if this is Genius or Clinically Insane EJ?
Last few years I have used a MLC (Ma Lin Carbon) 95% of the time.
It is a bit pingy at times and probably not ideal for short pimples (Spectol S3 2.0mm), however I often play reasonably well with it, and sometimes quite well.
It is an excellent serving blade, and also feels quite controllable and woody in general, the carbon kicks in quite nicely on more powerful shots!
However I keep trying to find that blade that is a bit faster, stiffer, a little better for the pips.
I am very fussy about handles and only really like Yasaka and Stiga blade shapes!
I have tried Falck Carbon, all variants of Nittaku inner carbon, both donic crests, and loads of other inner carbon and 7 ply woods in the search for that slightly better MLC.
I have 3 MLC's all 86g +/-1g, and I can use any of the 3 of them, they all play very close.
The other day in a rare moment of clarity, a thought occurred to me, why not try a 94g MLC. It should feel a bit stiffer and quicker and might be better for the pips, so I ordered one at 94g.
Is this Genius or have I finally totally lost my EJ mind?
