One thing I don't think anyone has mentioned to you yet, and you won't like to hear it.... but a visiting 12 year old 1800 American player is not going to be the focus of coaches when you go to an international academy. You see this happen all the time and often end up with situations where going international is a waste of time.
i've talked about it, he did hear it, or probably put my words in the garbage can already.
i suggest the only way is to buy a coach to focus on him.
else, he is just at the back of the group and the coaches will no doubt focus on the ones in the front - a chance to go up to the next tier.
It is also very ridiculous that you are considering going to another country when you are so far from even being the best player in your own local area and don't even bother to go to the club an hour drive away that has a history of producing top juniors. Usually going overseas is done by rapidly improving elite players who have surpassed the level of everyone locally or nationally.
But this is all ridiculous anyways so...
indeed, you and many said it so many times.
but his level is jumping up and down
he beats 2000, he is soon to be 2100, but now he is back to 1800
as I said, the kids parent knows this kid well. its wise they are not allowing him to go overseas.
You need to tick many boxes, for a sane parent to invest and for the whole family to make huge sacrifices, and sadly, there isn't too many boxes tick.
I guess this is where we say, welcome to the latest gen kids.
haven't even touch the real hardship of training (which is available in the USA), and already think way too ahead of himself.
