Hello people,

I have been using the venerable tenergy 05 fx for the last 8 months or so for both sides on an all+blade and I really love the control and feel that it offers. Recently I was suggested by someone to try the Nexxus EL Pro 43 as an alternative that is around 18 euros cheaper. I wanted to ask if anyone has played both tenergy 05fx and the Nexxus EL Pro 43 and has an opinion on how they compare. If it is possible, then I would really appreciate a comparison based on

1) arc
2) ease of spin
3) maximum spin
4) catapult
5) flattening of the arc on power spin
6) longevity

any other alternatives? I can consider slightly harder rubbers for my forehand as well as long as the dwell and support feels similar :)

Thank you everyone !

I haven't used the 43, but have tried the 45 SuperSelect, so I can compare to that one. 45 is slightly harder than T05FX but honestly not by much.

Arc: 45SS < T05FX
Ease of Spin: 45SS < T05FX (Although not by much).
Maximum Spin: T05FX < 45SS (Has better grip)
Catapult: 45SS <= T05FX (Honestly hard to compare because they feel pretty close)
Flattening of arc: 45SS < T05FX (45SS is slightly more direct)
Longetivity: T05FX < 45SS (Better grip)

Any other alternatives - Andro Hexer Grip or Hexer Powergrip SFX (if you prefer something softer, which needs less effort and can rescue Princess Leia in difficult situations). Both are awesome with great life. I have been using SFX since 2 years and I am totally impressed.

I think Nexxus EL Pro is a pretty good alternative to T05. Haven't played them side by side but I did play T05 and Nexxus EL Pro in 38.The 38d is just the easiest topspin rubber, like a softer T05 and it definitely serves the same audience. I tried T05fx very very briefly but the similarity is definitely there.
I don't know about 43 but I expect it to be more similar to T05 regular.

Hello again, I finally tried the el 43 pro for about a week and I think that I have some opinions now which may be useful for someone in the future :) I will compare the rubbers largely based on the categories I mentioned before - But I will also take the liberty to stray a bit.

1) arc - el 43 arc is lower than tenergy 05 fx but not by much. The arc is longer as well
2) ease of spin - spin generated is more with tenergy 05fx in case the impact power is low - but not by much. When the impact power is medium, el 43 is already at the same level as 05fx in terms of spin.
3) maximum spin - maximum spin levels are 'probably' higher for el 43 pro than 05fx...but I am not 100 percent sure
4) catapult - lower in case of el 43 pro at low impact shots but again not by much.
5) flattening of the arc on power spin - el 43 pro sponge feels a little harder than 05fx and I see that the arc is more uniform across power levels. What it means is that the flattening of the arc takes place at a higher impact power than 05fx
6) longevity - no idea yet

Now for the diversion. In my opinion, el 43 pro is a rubber with higher offensive capabilties than the 05fx. It's quite possible to hit absolute rockets with this rubber when you are two meters away from the table. The rubber has a higher top speed (but lower in catapult at low impact shots) - slightly lower arc and a higher level of maximum spin than 05fx. The sponge feels a little harder than 43 degrees to me (but I don't have any way to measure it). But the top sheet grip feels slightly less than 05fx at lower impact shots. At higher impact shots it's quite similar in terms of grip.
