I did something stupid. I put the glue side of a rubber onto the surface of a tacky rubber. The glue ended up sticking all iver the tacky surface.

Is there any way to get the glue off? It wont rub off with my fingers.

yoass;379828How did oil work out?
Because Baby oil has parafin, you can try on another surface. First glue, let it dry, then apply baby oil. You will see it will solve the glue.☺

maybe it might dissolve the glue but it will also boost the rubber....................................on the wrong side

I don't see how baby oil would help at all.

It just combines with the glue to make a stickier glue.

wheni remove glue on the sponge, I use revo3, it either comes off as a sheet of thin rubber that can be pulled off but
when there are small bits all around the sponge they need to be "rubbed off" using either the tip of the fingers or the
palm of the hand ,the meaty bit where the thumb is attached.
If you can not rub and roll the bits off, the rubber is likely to be f#&**d

A mate went ahead and put hand sanitizer on the rubber to try to rub off the glue. It actually made the glue easier to rub off, and a fair bit did come off. Incidentally, has anybody used hand sanitizer as a cleaner? It seems to clean quite well also

Sure, the hand sanitizer I use is mostly alcohol, it sure cleans some things real good.
So does Methanol, white spirits, Petrol (Gas) CRC Acetone Mineral turpentine and half a million other products 😂

Put glue, then stick another rubber on it so it will be two layers of sponges down, the thickness is doubled, could be nice, or just glue long pips OX on top.

Yeah, good idea. I got an old refrigerator you could glue on it that would make it cool.
