My friend, who doesn't have an account, is a chopper and asked me to ask you guys what an affordable (<$150) setup for his modern-chopping style would be.
Thanks

In Germany, you can always find a Joola Tony Hold White Spot DEF MIUNS blade on the cheap! If he likes inverted to chop with, go soft sponge and a softish tensor rubber on FH and he will be having a real defender's bat for 100 Teuros or less hehe.

Does he use only inverted rubber? Actually the JUIC and TSP rubbers which are quite firm and have more tackiness can be really good for chopping as they catch the ball well and are good for producing spin, best of all they are not too pricey. Because they are quite hard rubbers they allow for the big attacking plays or slow control spin as well, a bit like Hurricane.

If he likes to loop more and maintain more of an active attacking game then you might have to look at something a lot softer so that he can change between attack and defence.
