Helix platinum 55 and summer of trying

I am tempted to try Helix 55 (or 52.5) on backhand on my W968 now that you can find it at a humane cost.

I have been using Stiga Dragon Power 55 for the last couple of months, and whilst I enjoy it I wouldn't mind a bit more speed on my backhand. I also kind of hope it's a bit lighter? Dragon Power is 55g cut without glue (same as H3 but at least I don't boost it) and with H3 boosted on forehand my set-up is at the 210g mark, and my ideal mark would be around 200g.
What about D09C? Usually butterfly rubbers are a bit lighter, and I'm willing to go against my personal dislike of butterfly rubbers 😁 .
I accept also other suggestions, I feel like my blade only couples well with very hard sponges, and whilst it's an absolute beast of quality, it is like swinging a hammer and not very forgiving, especially when tired or far from the table, I am trying a Hurricane Wang Chuqin (commercial) and it feels quite easier to manuver.. but there is the trade off in sheer spin and quality.

Zyre is out of the cards, I can buy 2 Helix or 3 Dragon power with the same money I buy a Zyre 😁

That does't make sense. If you are willing to buy D09c you should also be willing to buy Zyre since it's most likely a better deal than D09c due to better durability.

I tried Zyre 03 and I couldn't control it!! Maybe I'm not good enough yet 😔 but I used Helix XH and was impressed a very underrated rubber I believe Stiga have produced some good rubbers over the last couple of years!!! I change my rubbers regularly and have put a sheet of DNA platinum XH and have been really impressed 😁 I've got a sheet of Helix Hybrid 55 can't wait lol 🤣 🤣 🤣

That does't make sense. If you are willing to buy D09c you should also be willing to buy Zyre since it's most likely a better deal than D09c due to better durability.

You are right, it took me in a moment of equipment weakness, but I don't really want to buy D09C either, and I suppose it's quite similar to Dragon Power, probably with higher throw (that I don't particularly care for) and maybe a couple grams lighter.

I've bought two helix XH on the spur of the moment and will try them both at the same time on both backhands, the W968 and the Wang Chuqin.
I almost bought a DHS Skyline blue sponge 40 just to try the difference with Hurricane 3 but finally resisted the urge.

How are you liking the Helix Platinum 55°? Haven't been able to find many reviews on 55° so maybe you can give some more info about it. I ordered one and it should be here in a few weeks and I'm excited since this is my first Stiga rubber I'll be trying.

I haven't tried the 55 in the end, I have tried the XH (I think 52.5 hardness) and I liked it quite a lot, it's going to be my rubber on backhand for this season.

I play it on the Freitas ALC, but before settling on this blade this summer I tried it on the WCQ blade too.
Before it I had tried the dragon power 55 for a couple of months and before that I was using mk pro for a couple of years. I feel like it definitely has a lot of power, speed and spin when you go for it, especially on top spin and counter and it's relatively easy to open up the ball.
I feel like it behaves a little bit different on blocks (that I use a lot when I'm a sparring and not too much in matches) and punch blocks (that I almost never use), I have the impression that the ball is been caught a bit and doesn't really release too fast - I still sometimes have to consciously adjust not to block to the net - which makes it great for countering instead.
When I'm playing good classic/modern defenders I sometimes use it on forehand too as it's just easier to hit hard balls with it than with the hurricane.
