How to identify wood composition/blade identification

I have an unidentified dhs blade, which is 7 ply and feels very nice. However, i am unable to identify the blade model or composition. Is there any distinct visual characteristics of different plies such as limba, ayous, koto etc. some pictures of the blade are attached above. (Also one side has a black lacquer thingy on)

Given that this blade has stars in the lens I'm led to believe that it is a DHS premade, I don't know which one it is, but it is probably made of basswood and looks pretty similar to the old DHS 08 blade which is 7 ply basswood made for short pips hitting.
