With the same sponge hardness, when hit through the rubber with full strength, Skyline 2 produces more spin and power than H3. Traditional penholders used to swing their entire body for third ball attack, and that goes well with Skyline 2.

Another reason is that Skyline 2 has a tackier and harder topsheet than H3. That gives you the “dead” feel during service and short game. The feature helps penholders to have a precise control near the net.

There’s no reason why SH players can’t play with Skyline 2.

So if you get more spin and power then why would anyone use H3? Is there less control?

No, but the requirements for more spin and power are significantly higher than with H3.

It is easier to generate speed with H3 though, but i suppose the topend speed would be lower.

So in other words Skyline needs more racquet speed to generate spin? Doesn't that just mean it's not as spinny?

The original H2 was designed for WLQ/Yan Sen.
The original H3 was not designed for any specific player but Liu Guozheng became the representative figure after WTTC 2001.
The original TG2/TG3 were designed for MLin/WH, respectively.
The original H2/H3 and TG2/TG3 were way more different than their Neo counterparts.

In thin brushing Skyline 2 is spinnier than H3. It’s just that, to achieve the same speed, Skyline 2 requires more strength than H3.

Skyline 2 is always a spin monster
