So... I've been thinking.
Over the last year I destroyed / used up about 6 rubbers... The first sign is wear in the centre of the racket, and then the circle spreads, when the wear marks expand to about 1.5cm from the edge (like the pimples are now showing through the rubber in the area of about 70% of the rubber) I start having big issues creating arc. Spin is ok, not great but good enough, but lifting the ball becomes an issue. Today I tried a year old C53 that I used to have on BH a while, my BH way to weak to make a dent on this. Lo and behold, arc is there. My topspins are zooping again in a beautiful arc.

I do play 5 times a week, totally about 10hrs. 3hrs of that is very intensive mult-iball. I do clean the rubber often, and use the adhesive sticker. About 2 hrs of those trainings are intensive semi random drills. Rest are matches. Over the last 6 months or so, I started training with higher intensity.

- Rasanter C53, first degradation 1.5months, dead 3 months
- Tibhar K3, about 3 months of decent play, but that was start of my comeback to the sport, so I might have been outputting less power then.
- Xiom Jekyll C55, glued it May 1st, today I can no longer effectively lift the ball, will try re-boosting, but if the issue is the top-sheet
- Joola ZGR, 2 sheets - 2 months - ish each
- Hurricane 3 40, Blue - 5-6 months, but my body is too weak to support it. I was subconsciously using more energy and my muscles were more sore than other rubbers, especially lower back, upper legs and biceps, in that order. I think I would have to go to the gym to use this more often.

At this point, I am bit annoyed by this situation. Tried the Zyre 03 on a friends blade, could not control it well. Also with thin top sheet I do not believe in longevity. I am looking for a Dignics 09C to try, because at this point if it lasts 3 months its better for the wallet. I also need to take a look at my technique, maybe I am doing something wrong, but on the hand, I've read some people claiming similar issues.

The question I am pondering right now. Have I become a player that is putting more wear on the gear OR has the gear become less wear resistant?

I think the game is also putting more wear on the rubber with the ABS ball. But mostly it's the hybrid surface that's just more prone to wear *and* plays significantly different when worn.
A normal tensor rubber will probably react almost the same when the surface gets slightly worn out as when it is new.
