OK, after some consideration and discussion with others, this thread is going to be locked for now, pending a decision on whether it needs to be deleted.
I have some personal views on this (one, I do not think the forum should allow under 18's to create accounts) - But that's an issue for another day.
There are a few things I'd like to say, and perhaps this is more "parent" speaking, than "moderator" or even another forum user.
@KTableTennis is 13 I believe. 13. He is a child, and whilst I remember my kids being 13 and thinking they know everything.... They were very much children (sorry KT).
When did we (as an adult population of table tennis players) become so comfortable about ripping into a child for wanting to follow their dreams?
Regardless of how realistic they are.
There really aren't many positive comments aimed towards him, and people seem to take pleasure in criticising at every stage.
Remove the frustration (because again, you are literally talking to a child), and from what I've seen.... You have a fantastic table tennis player who is likely to be VERY VERY good for their age bracket in 99% of the world - Yes World.
Does that always translate to being Pro? No. In fact, it very rarely does.
@KTableTennis - Regardless of what happens, be proud of your current ability, be proud of what you achieve and hopefully you can come back when you are 18 and representing USA at the Olympics!
