I'm play at 1800-2000 TTR level. My current setup is
Harimoto Innerforce ALC

FH: H3 NEO orange sponge (39°) unboosted

BH: Dignics 09C

I've recently switched my forehand rubber to the H3 from D09C, to try out a lower cost rubber since i play 12-16 hours a week and i play through many forehand rubbers quickly. After i had changed i noticed that most players who are active H3 users boost their rubbers. For now i have been fine with the unboosted, my forehand technique is pretty powerful, so maybe i didn't noticed how much slower it was than D09C. I have ordered A couple of H3 Provincial Bluesponge (40 degree) and one NEO version, and some Haifu seamoon national yellow booster to see how i like this. What are you guys' experience with boosting and such?

it depends on how many layers u’d like to boost. i used to also use 40° h3 and i boosted 3 layers. it rlly provides the kicking effect when u pull off a high quality shot.
also when u boost, make sure the rubber fully curls and un curls slightly and absorbs all the booster between each layer

What is difference in layers? And also why must I wait for it to uncurl slightly to glue. How is it different from waiting for it to be flat again. I would assume I’m going to use 2 layers of booster, since that is what most people are doing

Try Double Fish Volant. It's in between H3 and D09c, doesn't require boosting, and will save you money big time.

You could also try Big Dipper or Jupiter 3.

If H3 is what you are looking for, it is the best FH Chinese rubber in the market.
40 Degrees with 3 layers is a bit much, we normally just use 2.

layers of booster mean, you put the oil on - spread it, and then let it dry.
it rubber will curve, and after 12-24 hours, the rubber will slowly flatten, follow the bottles instruction.

if the rubber is too curved - it will be difficult to put more oil on or to glue, and that is why there is a waiting time - same where the oil needs to go into the sponge and do its affect.
if you glue straight away, while the oil is still very wet - the sponge will be inconsistent. The moment it is near flat, then it will be more consistent.
