Once cured of EJ and having a stable set-up that works, even against pips player, now I feel like I am locked in holy matrimony, I can only look but can no longer stray here and there and this is soooooooooo darnnnnnnn depressing. I need therapy. Shopee 11.11 seems so uninteresting nowadays.

I don't think EJ is a disease (as long as you don't believe new equipment is the solution to your winning/losing problems). EJing is just like trying out a new bar or new restaurant, or having a date with someone new.

EJing is just like collecting beautiful works of art like watches, pens. It's about the pleasure and enjoyment and "high" of using new things.

And we all know it's that "high" that will definitely increase your rating, will make you beat everyone whose blade or rubber was produced 2 years ago. .

There's so many ways to enjoy TT. EJing is one of them.

It’s akin to crack. After your first hit you’re forever chasing your first high. The only difference might be you’re not stealing and selling your body for wood & rubber.

I hear you. I recently got a Stiga Arctic Wood with the oh-so-rare Legend Flare handle and I’m absolutely dismayed to say that it’s…. perfect. Such a bummer.

These are common terms used and understood only by the highest ranked EJ's. It's rare air up there

Once you are done with the EJ phase, you can move on to the GJ or TJ phase. GJ's change their grip nonstop. They worry if they should keep the same grip for FH and BH or switch grips and which grips to use in different situations. This can be a nightmare to go through. Then you can also go through the TJ phase where you are constantly changing your technique every session. Use the wrist? Follow through with the body more? How low should you bend down?

Just because you are done with the equipment junkie phase, don't be depressed. There are also the grip junkie and technique junkie phase to cause nightmares and fits.

It is also possible to prolong the EJ phase with GJ. You found your graal when it comes to playing properties but wouldn’t an anatomic handle make your elbow less sore after practice? And wouldnt a FL handle help you loosen your grip? And a ST handle gives better reach, right?
