I am not a regular table tennis player, but need to improve my game: I play 'racketlon', involving four racket sports...I play the other three well! In tournaments I will play a range of players from beginner to very advanced.

Current set-up: I have bought a blade from TopSpinSports (an APPELGREN DOTEC CONTROL), and a rubber (Acuda S3). I had thought that I would receive two rubbers, but it seems one pays for them individually.

My style: I would like a different rubber for forehand and backhand as I am a much different player on each side. I enjoy loopy topspins on my forehand. My backhand is accurate and defensive, and I like to push the ball around in a controlled way, sometimes chopping, sometimes light topspin.

My question: In short, I was wondering which stroke (backhand/forehand) you would recommend I use the S3 on, and what second rubber I might purchase for the the other stroke? I am open to any advice and might even consider 'long pimples'.

I would be appreciate any advice you could offer.

Hi Steve,
First of all, let me say it's quite a decent equipment you got there. The set up is rather slow, so I think that you're more of a control type of player. I always like Tackiness from Butterfly, but they're quite dear nowadays. Have you ever tried anti-spins for your BH? Since you don't attack much on your BH, it may provide you more controlled pushes and capitalize on your opponents erratic returns. Anti also gives you option to flick some of the short balls.
And good luck with your racketlon mate:) Btw, what are the other three?
