I'm surprised the moderators are doing nothing about it, but it appears that while yes, the person in question has done "a lot" for table tennis, the deference that his/her work has inspired in the moderators has completely coloured their view from the insane prejudice he harbors that's bordering on vile disgust at this point. The same defaulter also demands respect from others.

Getting this out of the way before Zennihon Takkyu 2025. It's becoming clear to Hayata that her hand is finished for real.

After 3-0 Yokoi at WTT SCT Doha 2025, she admitted she can no longer do what she was able to do after the injury and because she can't go back to her old self, she will have to live with the injury and do whatever she can. Because of the injury, the way she deals with herself has also started to change. Noting a new beginning, she's still thinking how she will face herself and improve from here on. After going through the match, she noted that she doesn't know when and where she may get injured again. Having achieved her goal here (1 win), it's just a matter of not straining herself but she can't practice the same way she used to. Under the backdrop that her training volume has gone down, it comes down to how much she can translate her thoughts and various things into quality.

On 2-3 CY, she said she was slow to adapt to CY and the table. Despite saying she is slowly finding her touch again, she will likely not be able to perform at 100% at Zennihon Takkyu 2025, but it is fine if she can perform at 100% of her current self. For 2025, she hopes to participate in international competitions like this and get back to her previous level but it can't be helped that she got injured. Because of her injury, she has noticed a lot of things that she didn't realize in 2024. She doesn't know if she will get results but she hopes it will be a year that she can feel satisfied.

Some of your comments come off like you seem to have a bone to pick with Hayata all the time, while lauding Hirano for every other thing she does. Maybe you're trying to prove a point to "Hirano haters", but off the top of my head, I don't think I know anyone here who hates Hirano. Everyone likes her cos she's part of the Japanese offensive, and she's crucial against China. They may just not feel like she's done better than Hayata in the last 4 years. It's not a bad opinion to have. Yes, she's not beaten the top 3 in a row, but she medalled in all the big tournaments last year, something that Hirano didn't. That's good enough if you ask me.

So while I can't tell you what to do, I feel like it may be better for the sake of calming the frayed nerves on this forum to tone down a bit on the Hayata "èxpose."

ーー優勝、連覇達成おめでとうございます。今の心境を聞かせてください

素直に嬉しいです。これで4回目の優勝ですが、昨年の優勝とは違った感覚でした。「絶対優勝するぞ」という自信は正直ありませんでした。

それでもここまで来ることができて、優勝できた以上に、全てを出し切れたことが一番嬉しいです。


ーー左腕の状況について

準決勝が終わった後、少し痛みがありましたが、それでもプレーを続けることができました。

時間が解決してくれると信じていますし、徐々に慣れていければと思っています。


ーー今後の意気込みや抱負を教えてください

今回は自分の中で、強さだけではなく「上手さ」で勝たなければならないと思っていました。

頭を使って考えられなければ負ける、そう感じていました。

強さよりも上手さで勝つことを意識し、精度を上げていくことが重要だと思っています。


ーー「パリまでの自分には戻れない」というお話がありました。その思いを受け入れたきっかけや出来事について教えてください

現在の練習がある程度できるようになったのが1ヶ月前くらい、12月の中旬頃です。

その頃からいつもの感覚に少しずつ戻ってきて、「これはもう完全には戻らない」と気づきました。

また、年末のTリーグやWTTの試合を通じて、練習だけでなく試合の中でも「これもできなくなっている」「あれもできなくなっている」という実感がありました。

今回の試合では、その経験を活かして、できないことは諦め、できることに集中しました。

私の中では「サボテンを育てている感覚」です。

サボテンは月に1～2回水をやれば成長しますが、その間に他のことに集中するような形で、試合を通じて感覚を取り戻しつつ、重要な練習をピンポイントで行っています。

── 100％のコンディションではなかったと思います

早田：まさか4-0で勝って優勝できると思ってなかったですし、張本選手もすごく勢いもあってジュニアも完全優勝ということで、本当に自分は向かっていく立場だなと思っていたんですけど。

しっかり自分がやってきたこと、あとはできないことをしっかりあきらめて、試合に入ることができたので、気持ちの持ちようがよかったと思います。


── 第1ゲームは9連続ポイントがありました。試合の入りを振り返って

早田：頭がしっかり働いていたのでああいった点数になったかなと思いますけど、でもやっぱり2ゲーム目... 3ゲーム目もデュースでしたし、あれを取られていたらまた難しい展開になっていたと思うので。

大事な一本を取れたからこそ、4-0で勝てたと思います。

── いろいろな選手が早田選手に向かってくる中で、それに対する対応・戦術の幅が広いと思いました

早田：そのときの状況・環境、私も今回ケガをして試合に入っているので、いつもの自分の感覚とはまた違い、そこをしっかり照らし合わせながら試合できたので。

こういった形で優勝できてうれしいですし、ケガしてからたくさんの方にサポートしていただいたので、本当に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。


── 大会の序盤・中盤あたりでは、「いつ試合ができなくなるかもしれない」と、不安もお話されていました。無事最終日、戦い抜いて優勝です

早田：今日も2試合あったので、準決勝の後、やっぱりちょっと痛みを感じるタイミングもあったんですけど。

でもそんなこと関係なしに今日の決勝は頑張ろうと思っていたので、アドレナリンが出て、今、ちょっと腕どうなっているかわかんないです（笑）。


── 去年はパリ五輪もありました。またそこから2025年、どんな景色がこの先に見えますか

早田：パリ五輪までの自分には戻れないですし、でも、シーズン1までがパリ五輪までの早田ひなとして、ここからシーズン2の始まりなので。

I feel like someone saying that her hand would never recover but still batting as the best player from Japan is kinda overstating the impact of the injury.
She might never completely figure out Shasha and Manyu, but she's still a darn good player even with an arm and a half.
