Don't you get some import taxes on the last mile or something?

For me its about 70$ to import 4 sheets including import duties and VAT tax. I decided this will be my rubber setup going forward, so I will order rubbers for this year. I want to have spares.View attachment 43469
That is actually crazy why dont just buy butterfly rubbers at this point 💀

I have been using the 37.5° version for the past two weeks, so I can offer some insight on this rubber.

It basically functions like a typical Chinese rubber, AKA Hurricane-style rubber.

Muted feeling, hard to penetrate, easy spin generation, different gears, and the usual risk of oxidation if you do not take care of the topsheet properly. n.

All the traits you need to fully utilise Hurricane-type rubbers also apply to the new batch of Loki Rxton 9.

Just like Hurricane, it requires booster to activate the sponge properly. I recommend using Haifu’s booster, as it is specifically designed for boosting Chinese rubbers like these.

Personally, I don’t think I have managed to fully penetrate the sponge once in the past two weeks, but there could be a few reasons for that.

I paired it with a hard blade, (Super Viscaria structure), and boosted it with one layer of Rxton’s own booster and one layer of Kailin.

A few days ago, I tried adding one more layer of Haifu National Black, and it did feel softer.

I also boosted a new sheet with two layers of Haifu National Black and glued it onto my new blade. The new blade has a similar structure, but I asked my blade crafter to change the outer veneer to limba. Everything else is the same structure-wise.

I can already feel quite a difference. It is easier to activate, and I get more feeling compared to my previous blade. That could also be due to the limba outer veneer.

For reference, I can penetrate D09C when given enough space and time.

Overall, I think it is a great rubber, especially for its price.

I am someone with a spinny backhand, and I think this rubber suits me because it is very easy to generate heavy spin.

I also tend to brush too much on my backhand due to natural instinct, and this rubber hides that weakness to some degree because it has good grip and is great for brushing, as expected from Chinese rubbers.

Both passive and active blocking are fine.

It does the job, but it is less “automatic” compared to something like a Butterfly rubber.

For forehand, mine is 39°, boosted with two layers of Haifu National Black.

So far, I don’t have any issues or noticeable concerns.

One thing I did find was that it was quite easy to penetrate when looping far away from the table.

However, I have only had one casual session with it, so I need more testing before I can provide more detailed insights.

As for weight, I have no idea.

I was too lazy to measure it.

But I would assume the whole setup is below 200g.

Both blades are 88g, so maybe the full setup is around 195g.

To clarify some things about this rubber, here is a quick summary of the new batch of Rxton 9.

There are two products in this new batch:

Rxton 9
Rxton 9 Neo

Both are completely different from the previous Rxton 9 National.

Rxton 9 has an orange sponge. It also comes in a 37.5° version, which is designed for backhand.

Rxton 9 Neo has a blue sponge.

Like the Hurricane Neo version, it comes with a factory glue layer on the sponge. However, the layer was not fully even or smooth, so I removed it before boosting. The layer was quite thin and relatively hard to peel off.

Teacher Xiao Yu commented that the rubber has a much harder and more solid feeling compared to Rxton 9 National, so he recommends going down one degree when purchasing.

For example, if you are using 40° Rxton 9 National, he recommends 39° for this new batch.

Gan recommends the orange sponge, Rxton 9, over the blue sponge, Rxton 9 Neo.

He said the blue sponge could not hold the ball safely when he was doing his stroke with full power, while the orange sponge did not have this problem.

Both of them basically commented that the differences between the orange and blue sponge are similar to the differences between Hurricane orange sponge and blue sponge.

For example, blue sponge generally has more ball-holding sensation or ball-grabbing feeling, while orange sponge releases the ball quicker.

TLDR:

It is basically Loki’s version of Hurricane 3.

Even the characteristics, packaging, and markings are similar.

Perhaps it is slightly more user-friendly, but honestly, someone at my skill level probably cannot tell the difference clearly.

It just feels similar to Hurricane, which is a good thing personally.

I am willing to continue using it if the quality control is better than DHS.

But if you hate boosting, or have no experience with boosting, just get another rubber.
Just an update on both rubbers after training

backhand rubber is amazing. I can easily neutralise incoming spin from my coach in backhand to backhand rallies. My coach has high praise saying it feels like d05. ( I assume is the feeling which could also be the blade honestly) I suppose durability is only left factor to consider and test

Forehand is quite interesting. I think I overboost it. If I use 20% strength sometimes does not go over if i dont brush. 50-70% is fairly consistent but the quality and threat of the shots feels low. once you past the margin it just went over. My coach had a similar feeling to Gan. He feels its too soft and the transformation of the sponge was too much it can't hold on to your power. It just all went out. Even my coach's 40 degree orange sponge hurricane have much more power and the feeling is obvious.

That being said. I would stick to this for now. I think it encourages me to be more relax in match plays. In training if i hit with a relax arm and great acceleration it feels satisfactory. My coach also feels it also fine because I cant go 100% with every shot. I think I will try boosting with 1 layer or try the 40 degrees.
