Any exclamation yelled would do what you are saying. Try any of these out while pumping your first and see:

"YES!"
"HELL YEAH!"
"F_CK YEAH!"
"COME ON!"
"COME ON BABY!"
"YEAH BABY!"
"BOOYAH!"
"ARGH!"
"BO!"
"YAH!"

So the real question is, do you want to be a follower or a trend setter.

Or not to think about and to avoid at all costs. That is actually my opinion. To me it sounds foolish.
I agree Carl, I've played lots of younger players in our league, juniors and cadets who excessively cho.
I usually burst out laughing when I hear it.
I rarely vocalize except maybe at a pivotal point in a match when I need a wee burst of energy, even then it's a simple yes or come on!

Yes! Come on fight! Fight laj!

Yeah. I use fight also. That actually gets the juices flowing the right way for me.

I kind of feel that the meaning of the word or words you are saying, it's meaning to you, could make it have more of an impact, emotionally, in those situations. So when something comes out, it is whatever comes out. But most of the time I am not going to yell.

I actually yell more often when I mess up than when I make a good shot.
