The problem is that isn't stated the kind of hardness, I'm not looking for the soft sponge to dampen the LP or to increase backspin used by classical defenders.

I look for hard or semi hard because I want to use for close to the table or mid-far the table not far the table.

BONDING MATERIALS IS THE KEY.

@Tamasu Butterfly manufacture using thermo-pressure machine to bond sponge and topsheet together. What adhesive do you have in your stock? Take care to get a thermo sensitive adhesive, or you incur some troubles with the homemade rubber sandwich afterwards. Those will lose integrity pretty soon.
