Boosted Loki Rxton 3 Blue is a crazy BH punch rubber. Lot of training partners wonder how I can consistently hit really punchy BHs out of nowhere.

I give my racket to them and tell them to try and they suddenly are hitting BH punches when they've never done it before with their own setups.

It is a low catapult rubber still and the rubber itself is a bit harder and more durable then a lot of other rubbers. This is why it has a long breakin period for this rubber.
speaking of durability, why is G1 also from ESN last so long whereas M1, MX-P et al are infamous for their short useful life. I am baffled..

Have you tried using your FH rubber as your BH rubber to see if it makes a difference?

Reason I ask is the G1 has a long breakin period and given the description of how you play your BH, I expect that you would have a particularly long breakin period compared to your FH.

Might be worth testing by twiddling for a bit to see if it is just the BH rubber is not broken in properly.

Otherwise I would suggest a softer top sheet rubber on your backhand. Maybe a T19 (good at most things rubber) to keep spin but the T64 would be an option. You will also get better feel on your shot with these rubbers

Yes, you are right. Like I said its not that I don’t like G-1 on bh at all. Just when the opponent pressures my bh it becomes a weak point.

So maybe I put the title a bit wrong. Im not looking for too big of a change. But rather something similar with more control that allows me to have more feeling.

Thats why I mentioned the C-1 and P-1. Those have a softer feel that might be more foregiving.

I own also and use Stiga Infinity VPS with G-1, if you have problems to punch with you backhand isn't rubber related, look for yours skills: body position, timing, etc.

Have you tried G-1 with less sponge?

I also use c-1 on the bh and g-1 on fh. I love the g-1 on fh but same love and hate relation with the c-1. I think it's just my bh skill is not as good as my fh.

Hello,
I am a backhand blocker-puncher and this is my analysis:

The cushion rubbers
MX-P, R48 - best for blocking you can just hold it flat and send the opponent's power back to them
MX-P HARD, MX-D - requires more active block (punch) due to harder sponge and has more risk of errors, but offers more aggression
D64 - Butterfly rubbers have a different feeling than ESN rubbers (more brick like, less pillow) so for me it was more sensitive to the angle than MX-D and MX-P HARD. However it did have some cushioning for flat blocks, also a long arc, despite it being low height, so most of my balls flew over the edge during rallies.
T05 - softer and springier than the Dignics line so it behaves more like MX-P, but the higher arc made me block with a more closed angle or use my wrist
M1 turbo - requires more active block, but I found it more controlled close to the table than T05. Maybe because the ball dipped earlier on opponent's side due to less spring.
C53 - Similar to R48, but with less cushion and requires little more activeness from you. However the tackiness of this hybrid rubber allows for easier serve receive on backhand, though you are more likely to use counterspin with your wrist.
C48 - I haven't played with this, but I think this would be easier for passive flat blocks due to softer sponge while maintaining the tackiness against spinny serves. (my recommendation for you)

The brick rubbers
D05 - pretty stable, but feels hard as a brick so there is no cushion for punches and flat blocks. You have to block with your wrist.
D09c - similar wall feeling to D05, but the tackiness allows for occasional flat blocks, though best to use counterspin using your wrist. Great for receiving serves on backhand.

Antispin
Tried butterfly super anti - it is good at blocking (killing the ball), but a different motion is needed for attacking. You have to shove it forward with slight upward motion. Like an agresssive brush. Haven't tried glanti or half-anti so cannot comment on how they behave.

Short pips
I tried some short pips. The timing is different than inverted rubbers so I was struggling to punch with them, but maybe they will work for you. Recommending Spinfire, Degu and Waran as they also offer good spin.

Long pips
Only tried Dornenglanz OX and it felt similar to butterfly super anti, but with lower trajectory so I had to use more upward brushes, which felt uncomfortable for my hand. But maybe you can enjoy it. Never know unless you try.
