Short answer would be any grippy rubber can lift backspin but whats best for YOU will definitely depend on technique and level.Hello! I would like some recomendations for a super consistent, possibly grippy, BH rubber to be easy to flick / top spin and open up a 2nd ball attack. I'm talking about the last game, last set, when you tired and can't focus, but you still need to answer a serve with a quality opening shot type rubber, that will not dissapoint you and will go over the net
I was using barracuda when I played last time (I remember I didn't find it super consistent).. but it's been some years I don't play, and started again. I have a cheap but very decent Friendship non tacky rubber now, but after I played some tournament games last week, I found it "not perfect" let's say in the last game when I was fatigued.. I lost confidence in opening up the game..
No need to be super powerful.. just spinny (maybe not so spin sensitive?) and consistent, if that makes sense..
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
I'm not sure most consistent BH rubber is an actual thing.
I think there are properties common to rubbers that make it easier to put spin on the ball but it is completely dependent on level and on preference, which is probably based on technique, which is what gives consistency.
For example the most consistent BH flick I know uses Rakza 7 on his BH. One of the best players I know uses Rasanter 45. The most dangerous and attacking player uses D05 while many people I know like Hybrid rubber for the Flick/Chiquita and use Rakza Z and the like.
I have given Yinhe Moon 12 blue to a beginner friend who likes it a lot and he can BH flick with this quite easily but it obviously lacks speed, spin and power compared to other options.
Personally I use D80. While it's not the most forgiving it does reward proper technique and is excellent in other areas besides looping backspin.
Novice: Yinhe Moon 12 Blue
Beginner: Rakza 7, 7 Soft, Butterfly Rozena or if preferring Hybrid/Tacky then Rakza Z, .
Intermediate: Dignics 80, Rasanter 45, Fastarc G1, Butterfly Glayzer.
Advanced: D05, H3 37°, D09c
