Hello! I would like some recomendations for a super consistent, possibly grippy, BH rubber to be easy to flick / top spin and open up a 2nd ball attack. I'm talking about the last game, last set, when you tired and can't focus, but you still need to answer a serve with a quality opening shot type rubber, that will not dissapoint you and will go over the net :)

I was using barracuda when I played last time (I remember I didn't find it super consistent).. but it's been some years I don't play, and started again. I have a cheap but very decent Friendship non tacky rubber now, but after I played some tournament games last week, I found it "not perfect" let's say in the last game when I was fatigued.. I lost confidence in opening up the game..

No need to be super powerful.. just spinny (maybe not so spin sensitive?) and consistent, if that makes sense..

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Short answer would be any grippy rubber can lift backspin but whats best for YOU will definitely depend on technique and level.

I'm not sure most consistent BH rubber is an actual thing.
I think there are properties common to rubbers that make it easier to put spin on the ball but it is completely dependent on level and on preference, which is probably based on technique, which is what gives consistency.

For example the most consistent BH flick I know uses Rakza 7 on his BH. One of the best players I know uses Rasanter 45. The most dangerous and attacking player uses D05 while many people I know like Hybrid rubber for the Flick/Chiquita and use Rakza Z and the like.
I have given Yinhe Moon 12 blue to a beginner friend who likes it a lot and he can BH flick with this quite easily but it obviously lacks speed, spin and power compared to other options.
Personally I use D80. While it's not the most forgiving it does reward proper technique and is excellent in other areas besides looping backspin.

Novice: Yinhe Moon 12 Blue
Beginner: Rakza 7, 7 Soft, Butterfly Rozena or if preferring Hybrid/Tacky then Rakza Z, .
Intermediate: Dignics 80, Rasanter 45, Fastarc G1, Butterfly Glayzer.
Advanced: D05, H3 37°, D09c

Yes I still have one on forehand and I really like it, but not sure it works so well as a consistent and forgiving backhand rubber

Imo it's pretty forgiving, e.g. more than rozena, more than R7 (both very good), still capable of spin... Try and identify what more do you need...

Thanks a lot, valuable info! I'm not a beginner, but I was off for some years and also not training properly.. so although I have some good strokes, I do many mistakes due to lack of practising.. The key for the rubber I'm looking for would be forgiving / consistent (?) so for example, when I try to flick a medium / short serve in a crusial point (and I will try to flick it / loop it rather than push) - even if it's not the fastest or spiniest flick - the ball will land on the table. I would prefer that instead of miss half of the flicks just so the other half will be powerful and spinny :) So I think the beginner's options you have mentioned might be best with that in mind.

I my book R7 is not for beginners, lot of catapult and very sensitive to incoming spin...

My take on BH rubbers:
- Tibhar Hybrid MK FX, (ESN)
- Donic Bluegrip S2 (ESN)
- Donic accuda S2 (ESN)
- 729 Dragon F (if You want something a bit slower) (Chinese)
- Sanwei Taiji plus 2023 (if You want something slower and ligther) (Chinese)

Also gave an Andro Nuzn 45 (ESN) coming in which I have big hopes for.

If you like catapult go for ESN, If You don't like catapult go Chinese.
For a lot of catapult and spin sensitivity go Rakza 7 (or soft) (ESN)

The tackiness on Chinese rubbers isn't that good anymore so it only has a marginal
effect at best.

I will check reviews for all these. Since I see you play with a Friendship 729 rubber - do you by any chance have tried the one I use now - Focus 3 snipe - and can compare it to yours? Or the other rubbers you have recommended? Thanks for your time!

I did, Focus snipe 3 is very light so when my arm hurts alot I am forced to use something light. Its not too much different from Sanwei Taiji plus 2023. And according to mocker (on this site) a good replacement for Mark V.

says the guy using hard chinese tacky rubber on his bh...
You got is all wrong. Dragon F medium soft is not very hard. I like them to be ~45 (Europe) maybe ~37..38 Chinese.
Accuda S1 is harder than ~45...

If ease of open up is the only objective - soft and grippy.

Good luck with your short game! ;)

any recommendations for soft and grippy then? :)
There must be loads of them. Some mentionend above. Yasaka Rakza 7, X Soft, Butterfly Tenergy 05/80/64 FX (on my encounter with Rozena I found that it had relatively low grip so I wouldn't choose that one), Xiom Vega Europe are sort of classics and I'm sure Tibhar, Donic, Andro and the rest have similar offerings.

I read some good reviews for Glayzer 09C for backhand - Since you have mentioned both Rozena and Glayzer, have you tried the 09C? and how do these compare? If anyone has tried both please share your thoughts. Thx

I have a Glayzer 09c on my blade now (bought for FH to replace Dignics 09c) and I've been using it for 3-4 weeks.
It's not bad on BH and it is decent for flicks and BH openers but it is harder than what I'm used to on BH and tbh I think it's a bit too hard for me there. It's not a soft sponge so you need big power for it imo.
I would expect the regular Glayzer would be a better BH choice for most people.

Oh, I see - So Rozena and reg Glayzer should be softer and more forgiving then. Thanks!!

Yes, they are certainly more forgiving.
My humble 2 cents... Contrary to popular opinion Rozena is not a slow rubber. For some reason it is considered as a beginners rubber and in my experience I strongly disagree. On BH I could maybe live with it.
I admit I do not like bounce and prefer Glayzer. Rozena did not work for me, and G09c (regular Glayzer too) is more my prefference, less rubber help and more what you put is what you get.

Agree 100%. i found Rozena to be Tenergy-fast, Tenergy-bouncy but without grip.
And even if you have different opinion on that the Rozena is not at all like Glayzer. If these rubbers were from different brands or if the marketing had been done differently by Butterfly no one would have mentioned the two (three) in the same sentence.

Do you think rozena is faster then Glaycer? I currently use Rozena and it gets to mushy for me.
Speed is good spin is good but its to soft.

Also a Grippe soft rubber is Tibhar Hybrid MK, FX is even softer i think its to soft.
