I've tried both. In a game scenario , I realized I lacked the required footwork and power to not hit a crappy straight ball with mxd. Like it looked ok, but was too easy for opponents to return. I felt like a stallion in training tho lol
G1 felt great to me, not too springy in the short game and good rotation. I see why it's popular. If u have fast footwork and strong power go mxd, if ur a regular guy with a job and can't train all the time maybe G1 would give u more wins. Mxd is kinda heavy too, if ur a gram counter. Ultimately it really depends on your level in the end.
